Disappointingly nonsensical

Most of the post speech descriptors are unnecessary as is the bizarrely philosophical tone EVERYONE has. Tayler just straight up isn’t a person but an insane flat and static entity. The first book in this trilogy is very good, listen to it and stop there. This book contradicts its own rules and characterizations every other sentence.

Enjoyable

It’s obvious that a lot of thought went into the creation of the school and premise. The character dynamics feel real and so are enjoyable and the movement descriptors during dialog are very well done and thus vivid. I recommend this book.
Criticism:
A character’s name being “Upgrade” is laughable and thus takes away from that character and her interactions being taken seriously especially when most interactions in this book are quite well done.
There is little to no character development for anyone outside of Sal, Divinity, and Berry.
This may be a subjective issue but the system seems overly convoluted, repetitive, and un-impactful.

Travis is forced to make several difficult choices as he attempts to keep Stormhold’s Lords from turning against each other. Rifts form and friends turn to enemies as chaos threatens to consume Valerence.

Wow! What a fantastically rich story! A lot of characters meet their ends though…
Great story and performance as usual, though this book was definitely more tragic than the last two. The characters remain incredibly vivid and I’ve become very attached to them.
This book also connects with The Elementalist Books and provides some insight into the future.
I can’t wait for a future installment to continue the story!
Highly recommend! These books deserve so much more attention!

Loved this audiobook! Great performance and story. It also provided a cool backstory for The Infernal Council from The Elementalist series.
The Krampus talks more in this book than in book one and I just love his voice!
Highly recommend and can’t wait for the next installment!

This series has some of the best characters I’ve read in years. The dialog is phenomenal and the various dynamics between characters are great. I love the directions Travis and Ronan are heading in and Jervis is just as fascinating as he was in book 1.
Great follow up, I can’t wait for the next one!

A Spectacular Start!

The characters are phenomenal!
There are five or six majorly prominent characters in this story and so much is accomplished with them in such little time. There are also eight or nine secondary characters all of whom have there own things happening, it’s fantastic! They all felt so real, and were very engaging. This is very much so a character driven story over a plot driven story which I’m here for!
There is also a lot of brain food on display and things to think about and consider. There are several “stories” told by characters throughout the book and I paused after each to consider what they meant.
Honestly I’m kind of shocked at how much is accomplished in nine and a half hours. A comprehensive history is provided naturally. A lot of world building is done, and a dozen characters are characterized in very interesting ways.
The usual LitRPG elements are also present though they are somewhat secondary.
I can’t wait for book 2! And hopefully many more afterwards!

A Breath of Fresh Air!

I enjoyed every second of this audiobook! The narration was great and the story was phenomenal! Lots of new concepts and story elements were on display rather then the over used tropes which have become tiresome in other LitRPG stories. The characters were fun and multifaceted, and the humor was perfect!
I’m eagerly awaiting the sequel!
