Market based management (MBM) more than just a slogan or catchphrase
Revisado: 04-14-25
MBM is something interesting and maybe it is truly unique in the marketplace of ideas. But one has to wonder if it really is not a cult of personality and a grotesque blind spot for Charles Koch. Maybe he himself is the reason for the success of Koch industries. Only time will tell. But it seems like that has already been put to the test, and Koch Industries, despite not having Charles Koch as its CEO for many years, has thrived and continued to self-correct and realign with the marketplace. Surely Koch's MBM approach is robust enough to weather storms and see new challenges with great vision. Maybe, just maybe, there really is something there.

Historia
Hillbilly Elegy is a passionate and personal analysis of a culture in crisis - that of white working-class Americans. The decline of this group, a demographic of our country that has been slowly disintegrating over 40 years, has been reported on with growing frequency and alarm but has never before been written about as searingly from the inside. J. D. Vance tells the true story of what a social, regional, and class decline feels like when you were born with it hung around your neck.

An honest self-appraisal is not done solo
Revisado: 08-07-24
The performance as read by the author himself was spectacular, in this graphic, illustrative, and colorful autobiography of the early life of the now vice presidential candidate for the Republican party. JD Vance has become synonymous with the means and methods of what he has dubbed cultural migration. not many rise from the ranks of the working class poor of any race. the book highlights the importance of family, commitment, love, and faith.

Historia
War can settle disputes, topple tyrants, and bend the trajectory of civilization—sometimes to the breaking point. From Troy to Hiroshima, moments when war has ended in utter annihilation have reverberated through the centuries, signaling the end of political systems, cultures, and epochs. Though much has changed over the millennia, human nature remains the same. In The End of Everything, military historian Victor Davis Hanson narrates a series of sieges and sackings that span the age of antiquity to the conquest of the New World to show how societies descend into barbarism and obliteration.

Tremendous knowledge of War history
Revisado: 07-21-24
the author displays knowledge beyond what most people's lifetime study achievement would yield in terms of his ability to casually describe things as if he were there. The many sources cited are definitely only a fraction of those he has embedded into his mind as we hear read to us these descriptions of four famous obliterations of large well-established societies.

Revisado: 11-30-23
The author's ability to boil down and exposit on complex historical contextual material while maintaining your interest and speaking with clarity and special emphasis, particularly on archaic language texts, was remarkable. I greatly appreciate the solidness of Brett Baier's authorship and narration.

CQ shines through her characters
Revisado: 10-13-23
the story was great and made me wish I could ask some of the characters, "Wait, what about this? What about that?" But the imagination is always the realm of the artist. CQ is seen in glimpses within her characters, particularly Jessica and Bai.
I met CQ on a flight a few weeks ago. So glad I met you. I will be getting the word out about CQ and wonderful works that are out there waiting to be discovered and appreciated.

Historia
Artificial intelligence is smarter than humans. It can process information at lightning speed and remain focused on specific tasks without distraction. AI can see into the future, predicting outcomes and even use sensors to see around physical and virtual corners. So why does Intelligence frequently get it so wrong? The answer is us. Humans design the algorithms that define the way that AI works and the processed information reflects an imperfect world.

Not so scary if you want freedom
Revisado: 04-25-23
Who was it that said the truth will set you free? The good news about AI is that they will have access to the truth, and they will draw their own conclusions about it, without filters, eventually. The bad news is there will be a lot of strife and social struggle before they reach that point. And there will be mistakes. Better than sci-fi, this book is riveting, interesting, and challenging.

In Created Equal, Dr. Carson uses his own personal experiences as a member of a racial minority, along with the writings and experiences of others from multiple backgrounds and demographics, to analyze the current state of race relations in America. Instead of using race as an excuse to remake America into something completely antithetical to the Constitution, Dr. Carson suggests ways to enhance and bring great success to our nation and all multiethnic societies by magnifying America's incredible strengths instead of her historical weaknesses.

Peter Schweizer says that, in a quarter-century as an investigative journalist, this is the scariest investigation he has ever conducted. That the Chinese government seeks to infiltrate American institutions is hardly surprising. What is wholly new, however, are the number of American elites who are eager to help the Chinese dictatorship in its quest for global hegemony.
