Historia
Deborah Harkness first introduced the world to Diana Bishop, an Oxford scholar and witch, and vampire geneticist Matthew de Clermont in A Discovery of Witches. Drawn to each other despite long-standing taboos, these two otherworldly beings found themselves at the center of a battle for a lost, enchanted manuscript known as Ashmole 782. Since then, they have fallen in love, traveled to Elizabethan England, dissolved the Covenant between the three species, and awoken the dark powers within Diana’s family line.

With us
Revisado: 08-18-24
Well written to tie up some of the ends but leaving hints of more to come. This third book did an wonderful job of reminding us of the first two books without dragging down the reader into endless repeating of what has already happened. The twists that were thrown in we well done and I truly enjoyed being surprised.

Historia
Concerned that technology is about to chase mythological creatures out into the open (how long can Sasquatch stay hidden from Google maps?), the League for Interspecies Cooperation is sending Jillian to Louisiana on a fact-finding mission. While the League hopes to hold on to secrecy for a little bit longer, they're preparing for the worst in terms of human reactions. They need a plan, so they look to Mystic Bayou, a tiny town hidden in the swamp where humans and supernatural residents have been living in harmony for generations.

Ok with interesting twists but...
Revisado: 11-25-21
I really wanted to love this but some things just made it too predictable. It just seemed awkward at times. not at all the smooth writing style I love. The connection to Louise Penny's series seemed contrived and after thought. Not my favorite but since they really left you knowing there is going to be another book ..let see if it gets better.
