Told in short vignettes, this story of a young newspaper owner catalogs the story of Clanton MS during the tumultuous 70’s. Willie fills his paper with the personal stories of the time: racial tension, the Vietnam conflict, the draft, crooked politicians, etc. His sales increased more with his human interest stories, and he is introduced to a family of very educated doctors. All the children of this remarkable family have various PhD’s. Their story is center of this book, and Clanton’s religious and racial segregation. You will enjoy it from prologue to ending!

I love this story!! I don't usually read horror, as I am a scary movie fan. So, expanding my "horizons" paid off big time, upon reading your story. I couldn't put it down - wishing for lunch hour to come, so I could get more in.....listening to & from work, during the commute. Thank you for sharing the ghosts in your head!!

YES - it covered a lot of ground & made Kingsley more "approachable"......he wasn't my favorite character until now!
Who was your favorite character and why?
Kingsley, by far! I appreciate the internal conflict he has throughout the book & how he expresses himself.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
I think I like Lilly Rhodes' narration in The Angel better.......but Ms Hart did just fine.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
The Naughty Emperor's New Clothes - your grade school story is all grown up!

Is there anything you would change about this book?
YES - I love an author who can give good description....enough for you to get the picture. This author gives so much description on things that have little to do with the story, but doesn't go into description for more things that DO pertain. Many wasted words.
