Historia
How did a libertine who lacks even the most basic knowledge of the Christian faith win 81 percent of the white evangelical vote in 2016? And why have white evangelicals become a presidential reprobate's staunchest supporters? Jesus and John Wayne is a sweeping account of the last 75 years of white evangelicalism, showing how American evangelicals have worked for decades to replace the Jesus of the Gospels with an idol of rugged masculinity and Christian nationalism.

Great book, recording audio is too soft
Revisado: 09-27-21
I have listened to many different titles on Audible and this one was recorded a bit too softly to listen to comfortably in the car. Otherwise it was excellent!

Historia
Twenty years after her iconic memoir Shutterbabe, Deborah Copaken is at her darkly comedic nadir: battered, broke, divorcing, dissected, and dying — literally — on sexism’s battlefield as she scoops up what she believes to be her internal organs into a glass container before heading off to the hospital...in an UberPool.

One of my favorite books ever!
Revisado: 08-19-21
Absolutely riveting! I did not want this book to end. Part memoir, part commentary on American life, particularly if you are female. I couldn’t stop talking about this book to anyone who would listen!!

Excellent, high informative!
Revisado: 07-29-21
I enjoyed this book so much and I am still in awe of how much I learned from it! I love the anecdotal stories the author tells drawing from his breadth of experience. I will likely re-listen to it very soon in order to solidify the techniques that he discusses.

Historia
In her debut memoir, Doree Shafrir explores the enormous pressures we feel, especially as women, to hit certain milestones at certain times and how we can redefine what it means to be a late bloomer. She writes about everything from dating to infertility, to how friendships evolve as you get older, to why being pregnant at 41 is unexpectedly freeing - all with the goal of appreciating the lives we've lived so far and the lives we still hope to live.
