Good storyline

This book is entertaining and well developed. The characters are fun and multidimensional. If you have listed to any other Janet Evanovich novels you will recognize Lorelei King. She does a good job with flow and intonation. My only complaint is her characters sound similar to other series. So when Vernon speaks throughout I hear Lula from the Stephanie Plum series. Overall a good listen.

Intriguing Story

This story told by the author was fascinating and enlightening. It will give other people information about a little known disease process. I am a mental health counselor and had never heard of this before but will pass this on to other health professionals with whom I work. There is a strong possibility that we have seen a client with this issue. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Great storyline. Suspenseful

Well written with twists and turns throughout. The characters were well developed and believable. The reader for the book was better than the one they used for the Miss Fortune series. I was able to enjoy the story. Are there no readers from south Louisiana? I will gladly volunteer.

Great story, Pathetic performance

The story was well written with interesting characters. However the accents were pitiful and ruined the setting for me. I had to place the characters in southern Georgia in my mind just to get through the book. Not only did the reader have absolutely no idea what someone from south Louisiana sound like but she mispronounced words repeatedly. She insisted on adding a k sound to the end of LeBlanc which is like scraping fingernails on a chalk board to anyone from the region. If you can get past this it is worth a listen. I don’t know if I can endure another book by this reader set in south Louisiana. Ms Deleon please find someone who speaks the language.

Excellent information about dyslexia

Would you listen to Overcoming Dyslexia again? Why?

Yes. There is so much information and it is easily digested. I might want to listen to it again so I can see if there is anything I missed or to find other truths I might not have focused on during the first listen.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Overcoming Dyslexia?

I was amazed by the description of the brain's ability to be mapped and the parts of the brain that are used by the dyslexic reader and the non-dyslexic reader. It is so exciting that these parts can be retrained.

Which character – as performed by Anna Fields – was your favorite?

There were no characters in this book but the reading was done very professionally and with good inflection.

What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?

Children and adults with dyslexia can learn to read more fluently and with greater success when taken through an appropriate Orton-Gillingham based program.
