Historia
The Color of Everything is a thrilling tale of risk and adventure, written by a man who has done it all: he’s stood at the top of the world, climbed imposing mountain faces alone in the dark and become the only American to summit an 8,000-meter peak in winter. But it is also the story of a tumultuous life--a stirring, lyrical memoir that captures the profound musings of a brilliant and unquiet mind grappling with the meaning of success, the cost of fame, addiction, and whether it is possible to outrun your demons.

An unexpected gem! My new favorite!
Revisado: 12-13-24
I am a climber and mountaineer. I love books about adventure in the outdoors, and know the name Cory Richards. I thought it would be another awesome book about epic ascents of big mountains, and, in a way, it was! The mountains though were sometimes anthologies rather than firm bedrock. I can relate to Cory, in soooooo many ways, and highly respect him for his transparency regarding his life and mental health. We ALL are a little bit crazy, and the more we can celebrate life, our differences and ourselves, the better our world will be! This book is simply AMAZING!!!

Historia
Derek Black grew up at the epicenter of white nationalism. His father founded Stormfront, the largest racist community on the Internet. His godfather, David Duke, was a KKK Grand Wizard. By the time Derek turned 19, he had become an elected politician with his own daily radio show - already regarded as the "the leading light" of the burgeoning white nationalist movement. "We can infiltrate," Derek once told a crowd of white nationalists. "We can take the country back." Then he went to college.

It takes courage to change your mind publicly!
Revisado: 12-02-24
Derek Black, like so many other kids in this country and in the world are indoctrinated with certain beliefs. It takes absolute guts to be someone in the public eye, and one person so far on the right to acknowledge that by listening to another person‘s view that they could actually be wrong and change their mind completely.. I admire Dereck.

At a time when toxic individualism is rending our society at every level, bestselling author and renowned marriage counselor Terrence Real sees how it poisons intimate relationships in his therapy practice, where he works with couples on the brink of disaster. The good news: Warmer, closer, more passionate relationships are possible if you have the right tools. In his transformative new book Us, Real brilliantly observes how our winner-takes-all culture infiltrates families with devastating results.

The best therapy book I’ve read
Revisado: 03-06-24
Terry hits the nail on the head in his therapy modality ! I’ve searched for a book on therapy that I could resonate with. Lots of books later, I stumbled onto his. My wife and I have used his information to take back to our therapist, and we asked her to use his technique. We feel very hopeful about our future as a couple now! Thank you Terry!

Historia
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

Finally the truth
Revisado: 02-02-23
I’ve never been one to follow the Royals, other than when Princess Diana was killed, but I’m so glad Prince Harry wrote this and spoke about the deep and dark issues that take place in the royal family and in the Monarchy. I’m glad he had enough love for his family, to leave and let them grow up in peace.

Historia
In 2018, two couples set out on a climbing expedition to Alaska’s Hidden Mountains, one of the last wild ranges in North America. A rarity in modern climbing, the peaks were nearly unexplored and untouched, a place where few people had ever visited and granite spires still awaited first ascents. Inspired by generations of daring alpinists before them, the four climbers were now compelled to strike out into uncharted territory themselves.

Historia
This is the story of Barbara and Larry Savage's sometimes dangerous, often zany, but ultimately rewarding 23,000-mile global bicycle odyssey, which took them through 25 countries in two years. Miles from Nowhere is an adventure not to be missed! Along the way, these near-neophyte cyclists encountered warmhearted strangers eager to share food and shelter, bicycle-hating drivers who shoved them off the road, various wild animals, rock-throwing Egyptians, overprotective Thai policeman, motherly New Zealanders, meteorological disasters, bodily indignities, and great personal joys.

Historia
Somewhere out beyond the edge of the universe there is a library that contains an infinite number of books, each one the story of another reality. One tells the story of your life as it is, along with another book for the other life you could have lived if you had made a different choice at any point in your life. While we all wonder how our lives might have been, what if you had the chance to go to the library and see for yourself? Would any of these other lives truly be better? In The Midnight Library, Nora Seed finds herself faced with this decision.

Historia
In her phenomenally popular essays and long-running Tumblr blog, Roxane Gay has written with intimacy and sensitivity about food and body, using her own emotional and psychological struggles as a means of exploring our shared anxieties over pleasure, consumption, appearance, and health. As a woman who describes her own body as "wildly undisciplined", Roxane understands the tension between desire and denial, between self-comfort and self-care.

Revisado: 06-02-22
This book is as raw and honest as it gets. I applaud Roxane for sharing “the secret “ of why there are so many women covered with ARMOR. Perhaps we can be more empathetic rather than rude and judgmental. Thank you Roxane for turning on the light in a dungeon of darkness.
