Historia
Money is a fact of everyday life. We earn it, spend it and save it. We’re tempted to worship it and to trust it to provide for our needs. While much has been written about the power, danger, and stewardship of money, little has been written about what money actually is and whether or not money itself is moral. That information gap has been exploited to enrich a privileged few, enslave millions, and reap confusion and division throughout the world. How did this happen and what can we do about it?

Bait and Switch
Revisado: 07-26-24
This book is excellent on diagnosing the problem of fiat currency.
The problem is it suggests that all social ills are caused by it. They are not, and the book suggests that investing in Bitcoin is the solution. It most certainly is not.
Bitcoin is a further move towards many of the problems with fiat money.
1. It has no inherent value at all just like fiat money.
2. It has no physical substance unlike cash.
3. It has no guaranteer unlike cash.
4. It is backed by nothing just like cash.
5. It seeks to solve inflation but instead creates an asset class that is so unstable nobody sensible would use it as cash because it swings up and down in value every three seconds.
In conclusion, this book is a bait and switch. It offers Bitcoin as a future cryptocurrency that will actually be used as a currency, when in reality it is truly just a risky asset similar to a commodity that is not used as money and will not be used as money.
Bitcoin has no inherent value. The only way it can increase in value is people believing it will make them money and buying it from the next guy. This is called a Ponzi scheme. It has been tried before and always has the same result.
Keep getting people to buy the bag at higher and higher prices and then get out before people realize the bag is worthless and sell off.
Don’t fall for it. If you want to save, save. If you want to spend, use cash. If you want to invest, buy the SP 500. If you want to gamble buy Bitcoin, or a lottery ticket, or hit the Casino.
But whatever you do, don’t think you are changing the world by buying Bitcoin. You are most certainly not. It is not a currency at all, but a risky asset class selling a dream and offering nothing real in return.

Historia
In the early 20th century, a man in Pakistan happened to walk by a small Christian chapel. Inside the preacher was speaking about the love of God. The man, a physician, took the same route the next day and stopped to listen. This was the beginning of a decades long commitment by the doctor to bring more people to faith in Jesus.

Historia
Followers of Christ need to relearn what it means to stand courageously for their faith rather than merely survive in a climate of fear. Instead of motivating believers to action, today's headlines appear to be paralyzing them. Standing in the Fire demonstrates the church triumphant through the lives of people who stood strong and didn't run away in the face of overwhelming danger. These Middle Eastern heroes of faith fear God more than terrorist groups like ISIS.

Historia
When Lenina and Bernard visit a savage reservation, we experience how Utopia can destroy humanity. Cloning, feel-good drugs, anti-aging programs, and total social control through politics, programming, and media: has Aldous Huxley accurately predicted our future? With a storyteller's genius, he weaves these ethical controversies in a compelling narrative that dawns in the year 632 A.F. (After Ford, the deity). When Lenina and Bernard visit a savage reservation, we experience how Utopia can destroy humanity.

Historia
Combining research from Asian scholars with his many years of experience living and working in East Asia, Brad directs our attention to Paul's letter to the Romans. He argues that some traditional East Asian cultural values are closer to those of the first-century biblical world than common Western cultural values. In addition, he adds his voice to the scholarship engaging the values of honor and shame in particular and their influence on biblical interpretation.
