Historia
Michelle Stevens has a photo of the exact moment her childhood was stolen from her: She's only eight years old, posing for her mother's boyfriend, Gary Lundquist - an elementary school teacher, neighborhood stalwart, and brutal pedophile. Later that night Gary locks Michelle in a cage, tortures her repeatedly, and uses her to quench his voracious and deviant sexual whims. Little does she know that this will become her new reality for the next six years.

I can't believe she has people under treatment.
Revisado: 07-27-17
This author is gross beyond belief. I can't believe she has a PhD I feel sorry for anyone that she's treating and they should consider finding some one new.
before you read this book first read "My lie: false memories" Also never read "The courage to heal"
The courage to heal, was written by people with no medical background and has caused people great hardship by implanting false memories.
My lie: is a story of how someone that ended her father's relationship and broke a family do to reading "The Courage to heal"
This author step by step, follows The courage to heal. In my medical opinion (PhD psychology) most or all of her memories are false. She should not be in charge of anyone's treatment.

Historia
Meredith Maran lived a daughter's nightmare: she accused her father of sexual abuse, then realized, nearly too late, that he was innocent. During the 1980s and 1990s, tens of thousands of Americans became convinced that they had repressed memories of childhood sexual abuse, and then, decades later, recovered those memories in therapy. Journalist, mother, and daughter Meredith Maran was one of them.

Talk about taking so long
Revisado: 06-26-17
Well I still hate memoirs this one has to be one of the better ones as it reads like fiction. but at the same time she was trying to hard to make it sound sentimental for people to feel sorry. way to much comparison telling. This almost felt like a wine testing book. " The way I felt the first time was like eating strawberry ice cream" every part of her feelings had to be described as one of the senses.
but at the same time this made it a easy read as it just flowed and made it feel like a fiction story.

Historia
At seven minutes past midnight, thirteen-year-old Conor wakes to find a monster outside his bedroom window. But it isn’t the monster Conor’s been expecting - he’s been expecting the one from his nightmare, the nightmare he’s had nearly every night since his mother started her treatments. The monster in his backyard is different. It’s ancient. And wild. And it wants something from Conor. Something terrible and dangerous. It wants the truth.

Nine just know not to give to someone that's going
Revisado: 04-29-17
This is a very sad book, it would be hard for me to recommend this to anyone that has gone or is going through something similar, this would only bring them down.
performance was a little harsh as there voces where not smooth. not much feeling in the voice.
The story is one that I have see many times in my life, something that happens to people everyday. It was a little predictable most of the time you would know what was next. it could be do to being so common in life for this to happen.
Would I recommend this book yes but not everyone as this can bring most people down that have been or are going throw something similar.
