Hoped for movie qualiy, got television sitcon...

struggled to finish. to much borrowed material from Robert Jordan and Tolkien. To much main character self doubt, i struggled to get past the cleches. It really bugs when the author describes things from the characters perspective, but uses words like "fallen angel" when there is no knowledge of christianity in the characters story life.

Can't listen through it

So, I haven't even finished this book yet, but I had to say something. It's interesting so far, and I have no problems with the story line, I actually like a lot. However, the reader keeps on making the wrong inflections. It's mostly subtle, but once I started to notice it, it continued to bother me until I just couldn't anymore and had to take a break. I first started noticing it when the author explicitly stated that the character said something in a toneless voice and then the reader proceeded to read the dialogue with a nervous inflection. this happens thoughout the book, or at least the parts that I listened to, being most noticable in spots where the character should have been firm and professional and instead had some sort of nervous, angry, etc. tone.

Freaking' Vampires

I read a book once that made me so mad, because in the last chapter, Vampires came out of the nowhere and save humanity in a Earth invasion SciFi.

This is the third book, the protagonist and antagonist has been killed four separate time... but somehow, he lives, not for purpose, but just so the author can keep him alive to kill the good guys off one, by one.. I have 2 hour left in this book and I'm deleting it.

it's stupid to build up characters just to kill them off with magical vampires..

I was engaged from the beginning to the very end. A fulfilling book about having the courage to step out and step up. Highly recommended!

It is an interesting new take on sci-fi and it always makes me laugh. the performance just seems to fit, making even common droll comments hilarious. I will always get weird looks for laughing while listening to this.

OK but lacking in important areas.

I loves the theory of the shifters and David's story. however there was hardly any of David's story and way too many solid blocked of a certain characters story with no attention to the portrayed main character. I almost think that they made Chris the MC and totally forgot that there description was about David and not a foolish cop. least to say that really irritated me. the only redeeming factor was the few snippets the author decided to give me about David.

I felt like the ending was week, like you had one idea, and final found a place to dump it in. Why write about the great heroes return, and not make him part of the solution.
