Once I was able to keep all the characters straight, it was hard to stop listening. You touched on some very sensitive but real live issues. I could actually see the street and homes wach of them resided. I would have loved to see more into the lives of Ollie and Nicole. lm glad you kept Jack's family together. Great read and enjoyable with a nice glass of wine.

Beverly Jenkins does it again! I want to be the first to put this in writing. She needs to hook up with Tyler Perry or Oprah and turn this series of books into a Miniseries it would be a hit! love it, the story line and the way Bobby and Kiki's lives were changed and blessed. We need more refreshing stories like these.

The beginning of the story with the Coopers was hard for me to tolerate the abuse, but I was excited when the Cooper daughter finally grew a backbone and stood up to her mother. Te storyline was good and each character developed nicely. I loved Logan! He grew to be my hero.
I can't wait to read the next book in this series considering the clifthanger that Beverly left us with :)

Truly a fan of Beverly Jenkins and this series. I read the first book and this one complimented the first. the story lines were relatable and kept my attention. I would love to see Tyler Perry make these into a miniseries!

I am a Francine Rivers fan but this book had so much repetitive whinning that I wanted to stop after chapter 3!
I stuck it out and although nicely crafted with the unexpected death of Leota, much to my dissappointment, it ended well.
Not my favorite book but would not recommend for a book club.
Still a Francine Rivers fan

The storyline was good and the humor was very nice and appropriately placed in the story. I have read numerous books by Francine Rivers, although this was good it was not my most favorite one by her. I love the transformation in all the main characters as well as the display of forgiveness and compassion from them all. Jasper was one of my favorites and if I had to chose a father, I would want him to be like Jasper.
I am a fan and will contiue to be a fan!

Disappointed Read

This was my first book by Carl Weber and I will have to try "one" more by him before I count him out. This had so many unrealist storylines and portrayed our black men in a totally volunerable position from beginning to end! I did not like it and would not recommend it to my book club or friends. I think he has greater potential as a writer.
