Historia
Ivan is an easygoing gorilla. Living at the Exit 8 Big Top Mall and Video Arcade, he has grown accustomed to humans watching him through the glass walls of his domain. He rarely misses his life in the jungle. In fact, he hardly ever thinks about it at all. Instead, Ivan thinks about TV shows he's seen and about his friends Stella, an elderly elephant, and Bob, a stray dog. But mostly Ivan thinks about art and how to capture the taste of a mango or the sound of leaves with color and a well-placed line.

However short, this story was just right. I’ve been incredibly bored with my past readings and asked my grandson what he had read recently. I’m so glad he recommended this delightful story. Thanks Liam!

I’ve been looking for something to listen to while I sew. This was just right. Interesting story but a little confusing at first as it rocked back and forth twisting the plot.

GIVING UP
Revisado: 03-12-21
I listen for knowledge and just plain old entertainment. I have to think too much to get the gist of what the reader is saying because of her accent. (So proud of her for trying to learn English.) No enjoyment in this. I suspect it is a great story but I'll never know.

I can understand how writing and performing this helped with the anxiety brought on by our COVID isolation. Knowing Beethoven as JB does could only have helped. After all, those of us who love classical music can only be fed and nurtured by music. How I miss live concerts! I loved the excerpts that were shared here. Now where are my Beethoven CDs?

memories
Revisado: 04-14-20
I suppose I loved this little book because James Taylor and I are contemporaries. I was in college when I first heard his name. He was making a stir and I was a little curious. Even though I was in college during the late 60's early 70's, I was not a part of the contemporary scene of dope and wild reckless living. I knew my college career would be over and I'd be working in sales at Sears Roebuck and Co. for the rest of my life if I even thought about living that way. But I could read, and I could listen to music. I could pay attention to the changing world around me. I loved this book because James Taylor revealed himself to be a person in the middle of the social change of the day. His family background explained much of the reasons why. And I always loved his songs. So glad the book included some of his music and performed by him. Thanks.

Historia
From the New York Times best-selling authors of America's First Daughter comes the epic story of Eliza Schuyler Hamilton - a revolutionary woman who, like her new nation, struggled to define herself in the wake of war, betrayal, and tragedy. In this haunting, moving, and beautifully written book, Dray and Kamoie used thousands of letters and original sources to tell Eliza's story as it's never been told before - not just as the wronged wife at the center of a political sex scandal but also as a founding mother who shaped an American legacy in her own right.

Inspiring
Revisado: 04-02-20
I found this story about Alexander Hamilton very interesting. Told from the point of view from his wife, it was intriguing. I found myself thinking about how she must have felt throughout his life. How she loved so deeply that forgiveness was her only move when he betrayed her. Her pride in him and his accomplishments for this country kept her moving forward. She was a fine example to her family, her friends, her community, and especially her children. It made me think how a life destined for greatness was lived by an imperfect man. Good read.
