Historia
In 1892, Bombay is the center of British India. Nearby, Captain Jim Agnihotri lays in Poona military hospital recovering from a skirmish on the wild Northern frontier, with little to read but newspapers. The case that catches Jim's attention is being called the crime of the century: Two women fell from the busy university’s clock tower in broad daylight. Moved by the widower of one of the victims - his certainty that his wife and sister did not commit suicide - Jim approaches the Framjis and is hired by the Parsee family to investigate what happened that terrible afternoon.

It is a cold January morning, and Shetland lies beneath a deep layer of snow. Trudging home, Fran Hunter's eye is drawn to a splash of color on the frozen ground, ravens circling above. It is the strangled body of her teenage neighbor, Catherine Ross. The locals on the quiet island stubbornly focus their gaze on one man - loner and simpleton Magnus Tait.

A mounting investigation with a twist
Revisado: 03-21-18
This well written book, full of analogies, similies, and high level of English, will hold your attention from the beginning to the end! The characters were well delineated and plausible. The setting of the Shetlands came out clearly to complement the story. Bravo!

A Rare Treat
Revisado: 03-08-18
What a surprise to discover the amazing story of this farsighted warrior who became the ruler of territories as large as the African continent! Ghengis Khan was just a name I had skimmed over in a college World History class. I had no idea about the poverty and harsh circumstances of his youth, his rise to greatness as a valorous warrior, ingenious strategist, faithful husband and father, his original manner to allow inclusion, religious freedom,
education for all no matter their station in life. The story was well de!eneated, plreasant to listen to, full of remarkable exploits and discoveries. Ghengis Khan is alive and well and has had a deep impact on our way of life. Well worth reading!

Historia
Jeannette Walls grew up with parents whose ideals and stubborn nonconformity were both their curse and their salvation. Rex and Rose Mary Walls had four children. In the beginning, they lived like nomads, moving among Southwest desert towns, camping in the mountains. Rex was a charismatic, brilliant man who, when sober, captured his children's imagination. Rose Mary painted and wrote and couldn't stand the responsibility of providing for her family; she called herself an "excitement addict."

Couldn't put it down!
Revisado: 07-27-17
A Very c!ever intertwining of 12th century Turkey and
an upper class suburb outside NYC today. The story grabbed me from the beginning and didn't let go! Profound Sufi teachings on love, dying to the ego, and living in the present moment hung skillfully on two main characters so far away in space and time. The bonus was to understand more about the beloved Rumi.
