Historia
Younger star and LGBTQIA+ advocate Nico Tortorella investigates love, sex, gender, addiction, family, fame, and fluidity through their personal story and the lens of their nonbinary identity. Expanding on themes explored on their popular podcast, The Love Bomb, Nico shares the intimate details of their romantic partnerships, the dysfunction of their loud but loving Italian family, and the mingling of their feminine and masculine identities into one multidimensional, sexually fluid, nonbinary individual.

Amazing! Buy this book!!
Revisado: 07-14-21
A beautiful book written and voiced by the artist themselves. I appreciate his awareness, heartfelt story of self-actualization from both his past and current life. As a 1st gen Mexican-Portuguese American who’s queer-adjacent with a cis-male fluidity and selectively poly, I believe we are all still learning the ropes of life, light and social order when it comes to understanding how we all operate. The terms we use are still evolving and it’s up to us to continue to learn and educate newbies that don’t understand this world. I have a lot more respect for Nick and Bethany because it really proves that he’s without a doubt aware of his status on society by providing details on what he can does to change peoples mindsets for the greater good in order to inspire positive social change for future generations to come. I’d be this guys friend man. What a beautiful heart and soul. Also thanks for being on Younger. I cried when it ended. I truly felt like I was party of that family and it really provided me a reflective experience on my own personal life and where I want to be. Thanks for the great listen! BUY this book! It’s worth it!

Recommended Read after Ethical Slut
Revisado: 12-19-20
This book prepared me to go more in-depth within the polyamory stepping stone in relationships with the hetero-point of view. I listened to this book after I was done with ‘Ethical Slut.’ This book allowed me to expand my mind as I progress in my own self-acceptance as a poly individual in a gay relationship with my boyfriend. I can envision is expanding our relationship for more love in a multi-partner setting as time progresses and it feels like we’re on good terms with the idea of is being a possibility. So this book gave me the green light to let go of self-doubt by embracing my truth as a poly person. I’ve met other poly people who have done more than I have when it comes to active polyhood. I have a lot of growing to do as I know it’ll either be successful or it might not be resulting in pain. It’s truly about just giving it a shot to prove that love wins regardless of how many people who decide to open our hearts to and emotionally get involved with. It goes beyond physical intimacy at this point to prove that we as poly people are here to build a healthy community with the ability to pursue what we feel comes natural us and that’s okay. It’s...okay.

How did Fidel Castro fool the CIA for a generation? Why did Neville Chamberlain think he could trust Adolf Hitler? Why are campus sexual assaults on the rise? Do television sitcoms teach us something about the way we relate to each other that isn't true? While tackling these questions, Malcolm Gladwell was not solely writing a book for the page. He was also producing for the ear. In the audiobook version of Talking to Strangers, you’ll hear the voices of people he interviewed - scientists, criminologists, military psychologists.

Great read!
Revisado: 05-02-20
There was a lot of wonderful narrative done in this this book that really spoke to me about all sorts of backgrounds when it comes to owning your mistakes and using your negative bias to be blind of what’s going on right in front of you. There have been heinous crimes done to people that didn’t deserve it but it’s a matter of uncovering why humans do what they do and why it’s hard to dissect right from wrong when it just, feels good to be in power. Sometimes power is weaponized when you’re thinking you’re doing the right thing, causing others around such power to be infected with poison. In the case of Sandra Bland, it was mishandled by the cop and little do we know how much she was going through at the time. She was a spokeswoman and an activist who faced abortion. And she was vulnerable. Because of what the cop sees, he didn’t diffuse the situation nor did he make he feel comfortable. You find out more throughout this book and learn more about what it feels like to be the fly on the wall, listening to convos and how each person was held accountable for breaking the law. Great listen! I read the ebook along with it too. Love the music approach too from Janelle Monáe!
