Historia
After the latest mission of the starship Flying Dutchman, Earth is safe not just for a year, but for hundreds of years. The ship’s weary crew wonders what they will do with their lives in peacetime, but the enemy has other plans, and there is danger on the Homefront. Starring Zachary Quinto, R.C. Bray, Kate Mulgrew, Robert Picardo, and everyone's favorite AI, Skippy the Magnificent, alongside a full cast. Includes plenty of pew-pew-pew, original sound composition, and maybe some singing by R.C. Bray.

Boy do I really hate sounding like a fanboy. Having worked in television for nearly two decades I have met my fair share of famous people. worked with some extremely talented people. But man oh man would I LOVE to work on the production for this series. This would make an amazing "special" midseason/series special. This story, it's short sweet and lots of fun! Well one can only hope it comes to fruition. Oh, and you better not be teasing about books 9 and 10. 📚

The human soldiers stranded on the planet Paradise have been recruited into an alien legion to do the dirty jobs that the high-tech species won't do. Their first mission is to kick the enemy off a backwater planet no one cares about. It's a simple assignment, except everyone has a hidden agenda, and the planet could become a deathtrap.

Earth's armed forces have stopped the Lanky advance and chased their ships out of the solar system, but for CDC officer Andrew Grayson, the war feels anything but won. On Mars, the grinding duty of flushing out the twenty-meter-tall alien invaders from their burrows underground is wearing down troops and equipment at an alarming rate. And for the remaining extrasolar colonies, the threat of a Lanky attack is ever present.

I think I'm going to miss the Graysons
Revisado: 12-12-18
I have really enjoyed this series of books. Enjoyable stories and you get the sense that you really have met Andrew. Based on what seemingly would be more genuine reactions to the trauma that he endured. instead of the sometimes over the top machismo that can come out in this genera. The guilt, the what ifs and could haves. Gave the character believability. The stories come out as if we are some distant time and Andrew is reminiscing over the events of his life. Like what some of the milinials have embarked on attempting to document as much of the memories of the WW 2 survivors that remain. I can see something like this happening and Andrew is talking it all out. Now the story is not set this way but I kind of see it as so. Not sure if there is another instalment or not. Hope there will be one but if not the series ends well.

Big story, big universe,
Revisado: 01-31-18
Sadly. A large story that could probably never be made into a movie or television series. Kind of like Dune. When you try to squeeze it all down to something small say a film or series of films you start loosing that which gave it it's gravitas.. None the less worth a cross country road trip size listen.

I LOVE this series!
Revisado: 10-03-17
These books are probably my favorite series now. Several times during this read l had to skip back to listen to Mr. Bray again because I was behaving like a "flea bitten monkey" myself with my out and out laughter at what are some of the funniest lines between Skippy and Bishop. I would be walking across campus headphones on when I would burst out laughing. Or working on some graphics in the media lab when I would just start laughing again and drawing some scornful looks for doing so. A friend of mine wanted to know what
was so funny so I lent him the first book. Subsequently he has an Audible membership just so he can listen to the rest of the series. I LOVE these characters and the whole universe Mr. Alanson has created for them. Truly, my only regret is that I need to pace myself when listening to next book. You may think 16 hours is long but I went through Mr. Bray's performance in three days or so. Of course neglecting my school work to some degree during that period. But well worth the extra crunch time I needed to put in to catch myself up afterwards.

To add to the surprise, he is now a sentient computer and the controlling intelligence for a Von Neumann probe. Bob and his copies have been spreading out from Earth for 40 years now, looking for habitable planets. But that's the only part of the plan that's still in one piece.

give it a shot
Revisado: 01-24-17
What made the experience of listening to Drysine Legacy the most enjoyable?
The narrator has an interesting cadence. Accenting phrases or names that at first I thought odd; but later really enjoyed. I have listened to the story now twice and found I enjoyed it much more the second time. It has been about a year since I first listened but with the release of the next book I wanted to refresh the story line. Looking forward to the next book
What was one of the most memorable moments of Drysine Legacy?
Macca Macula ... listen to the book you'll get it.

There's a reason We Are Legion was named Audible's Best Science Fiction Book of 2016: Its irresistibly irreverent wit! Bob Johansson has just sold his software company for a small fortune and is looking forward to a life of leisure. The first item on his to-do list: Spending his newfound windfall. On an urge to splurge, he signs up to have his head cryogenically preserved in case of death. Then he gets himself killed crossing the street. Waking up 117 years later, Bob discovers his mind has been uploaded into a sentient space probe with the ability to replicate itself.

Fun!
Revisado: 10-21-16
What did you love best about We Are Legion (We Are Bob)?
Fun is what I would call it. I really did enjoy this story. Several times I really laughed out loud and continuously found myself with a smile on my face as the story progressed. A unique story line with many sci-fi referential humor and tones. In my minds eye the sight of Admeral Akbar "rolling his eyes" still makes me chuckle .Look, let me put it to you this way "Bob" is a sci-fi fan who found he had an afterlife, and its an afterlife taylord made for him. Judging by the cation "Book one" I am anticipating another to further the exploration of the "Bobiverse." I eagerly await the release.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Well that would be Bob of course. With the modified user interface called GUPPY (don't recall what the actuall ackronyms letters) of Admiral Ackbar my second.
Which character – as performed by Ray Porter – was your favorite?
The various Bobs. You would think it hard to differenciate between multiple versions of what is essentially the same characture. But he did a good job of treating each with subtle differnces. Good job!
