Joining the ranks of popular science classics like The Botany of Desire and The Selfish Gene, a groundbreaking, wondrously informative, and vastly entertaining examination of the most significant revolution in biology since Darwin - a "microbe's-eye view" of the world that reveals a marvelous, radically reconceived picture of life on Earth.

Very informative and interesting
Revisado: 01-10-17
I learned a lot from this book and it is a very pleasant read/listen. The interactions of microbes almost present as stories in this book, yet this doesn't take away from the focus on the nuanced and complicated relationships between organisms.

Historia
At seven minutes past midnight, thirteen-year-old Conor wakes to find a monster outside his bedroom window. But it isn’t the monster Conor’s been expecting - he’s been expecting the one from his nightmare, the nightmare he’s had nearly every night since his mother started her treatments. The monster in his backyard is different. It’s ancient. And wild. And it wants something from Conor. Something terrible and dangerous. It wants the truth.

Ok
Revisado: 12-25-16
There was some basic helpful information in this book. However I was looking for more specifics about actually setting up an aquaponic system at home. I found most of the info to be too general. Having diagrams might have helped but that wouldn't be compatible with the audiobook format anyway. Oftentimes the book sounded like it had been awkwardly translated into English from another language, and the narrator sounded robotic.

Companion gardening is just planting certain plants together because they will help each other grow and become healthier. It is said that companion gardening is even better than using fertilizers or artificial ways of letting plants grow because the plants can benefit from each other and it's all a natural process.

Not good as an audiobook
Revisado: 07-02-16
I think a hard copy of this book would work better. it is more of a reference book, something I'd like to flip through back and fourth as needed. it doesn't really work as an audio book. Having someone read lists of plants was very boring and not helpful. I could barely get into it as an audio book.
