For a long time, I didn’t even realize how hard I was on myself. I thought low self-esteem only showed up in obvious ways, but for me, it was quiet.. like brushing off compliments or doubting myself every time I wanted to try something new. Listening to this audiobook made me feel like someone finally put words to things I didn’t know how to explain. It’s not overly complicated, it just gently walks you through how to notice those patterns and start being a little kinder to yourself. I’m still working on it, but it reminded me that self-love isn’t selfish, it’s necessary.

I like to listen to affirmations first thing in the morning. Every time I listen, I notice something new—it hits different depending on what I’m going through or what I’ve recently learned. It’s such a simple thing, but really helpful when you do it daily and keep repeating it. This one is a good one to start or even restart your mindset with!

I used to think growing new plants meant buying more from the store. I didn’t know you could actually create more just from what you already have at home. One day, I tried to grow a plant from a cutting… it didn’t make it. I had no idea what I was doing. This audiobook explains everything in such a calm, simple way, makes me think that I should actually have done a different way instead. And I finally understood what went wrong with my first try lol

First thing to change is your mindset.

I’ve read and listened to countless books, hoping to find the one thing that would finally push me to start. I needed something to build my confidence, to help me take that first step. The more I listened, the more I realized that the most important thing wasn’t just the strategy, it was the mindset. If you don’t believe in yourself, no plan will work. But if you keep feeding your mind with the right knowledge, eventually, you start to think differently. And when that shift happens, you stop waiting and start doing. This book is another step in that journey.

One day, my husband brought back a game and said, "This is what we’re going to do." I stared at the box, completely blank—I had no idea what I was getting into. I had played video games and board games before, but this? This was something different.

At first, I just followed along, rolling dice when told and trying to keep up with the story. But the more we played, the more I got hooked. Then came the moment when someone had to step up as the Dungeon Master. I never thought that would be me. Running the whole game? Keeping track of rules, characters, and storylines? No way. But somehow, I found myself behind the screen, and that’s where this audiobook came in. It didn’t just explain the mechanics—it showed me how to make the game fun for everyone. If you’ve ever been handed a rulebook and felt lost, this audiobook makes it all click.

A way to reduce food waste

I used to buy way too much produce at the farmers’ market, convincing myself I’d cook everything before it went bad. Spoiler: I never did. Week after week, I’d toss out wilted greens and mushy fruit, feeling guilty about all the waste. Then I figured if I can’t stop overbuying, maybe I can start preserving. This audiobook showed me simple ways to store food without it being a huge project. Now, instead of watching berries go bad in the fridge, I turn them into homemade jam. A very good idea!

Growing up, my grandma’s kitchen was filled with jars of homemade jams and pickles. I loved watching her work, but I never thought I’d be able to do it myself. When I moved out, I relied on store-bought versions, assuming food preservation was too complicated.

This book made it easy. I finally tried canning my own fruit and even made a batch of homemade pickles. Now, every time I open a jar, I feel a little closer to those childhood memories.

Confidence comes with practice

Lately, I had an opportunity to host a big event, and in my second language! I practiced so many times before the big day. At first, I was nervous, but the more I spoke, the better it got. By the end, I was actually enjoying it.

This book showed me that public speaking isn’t about being born confident—it’s a skill you can actually learn. It breaks down the process step by step, from calming the nerves to structuring a talk that people actually want to listen to. The part about using storytelling to connect with an audience really hit home for me. I realized that I didn’t have to be perfect—I just had to be real.

I used to say yes to everything, terrified of being seen as selfish. I thought I was just being nice, but really, I was scared of rejection. This book showed me that my fear of letting people down was keeping me stuck. I learned that setting boundaries without guilt doesn’t push people away.. it strengthens relationships. The right people stayed. The biggest lesson? I can care for others without losing myself. If you’re always giving and never receiving, this book will make you rethink everything!
