Historia
The first novel in Simon Scarrow's bestselling Roman series. It is 42 AD, and Quintus Licinius Cato has just arrived in Germany as a new recruit to the Second Legion, the toughest in the Roman army. If adjusting to the rigours of military life isn't difficult enough for the bookish young man, he also has to contend with the disgust of his colleagues when, because of his imperial connections, he is appointed a rank above them.

Story of one Optio in the Roman Legion. A decent story about some close calls during the fight between Rome and the British savages.

From underground to surface adventure
Revisado: 04-01-24
This tale starts out with a group of people who have lived in an underground grotto all of their lives. They have a random pick of people who are kicked out of this safe underground place at specific intervals to control the population. There is only so much room and food available so this is how they control how many people are chosen to stay. The main character is an orphan male who is in love with a girl with a large family. She is picked to be released to the surface which everyone thinks is a death sentence. The main character hands over his white rock over to a black rock holder so he can go to the surface with her to protect her. This begins the big adventure. Not a bad listen.

Descent story.
Revisado: 12-14-23
Not bad Plum. It took a bit to get Into the story but it was a good length. I got the impression that the story could have gone in a different direction and it really could have been great. But overall, it was worth a credit. For a human space adventure to begin again in another world, it really goes in a tangent right off the bat. But still, well done.

A descent story Well worth a credit!
Revisado: 09-02-23
This is the first book I have listened to from this author. I was impressed with the well rounded storyline. The only thing that was a little too unbelievable was how many times the main character survives life and death situations. He is like a cat with nine lives. I should say Wolf and not cat. This is a good listen and I will be moving on to the next installment.

Very Entertaining Listen!!
Revisado: 02-17-23
I really wanted to see more 5 star ratings for this book! I think this book deserves it. The characters created by the author are full of faults and completely human. They go through crazy situations that are not predictable. The only predictable part of the story was that the King had to die but I really did not expect it to happen the way it did. I do hope there will be more books to follow because the story certainly has room to grow. Very well done to everyone involved!

LEAVE IT HANGING!
Revisado: 01-11-23
I just have one question. When does the sequel come out? This was a great idea for a story. The way the story progressed was really good but you get the feeling that it really could have been great. The story does bog down at certain points, but overall, a worthy listen. Hopefully the next installment will come out soon.

Great listen with some different twists and turns. It is not the way I wanted things to happen. But it is not my book, I just think it could have been better. still it was very interesting and I will be waiting for the next book.

Very Good Story
Revisado: 12-18-22
I did enjoy listening to this incredible story. The only negative part was that Morgan Rice split up the story into too many parts. This way, the listener ends up spending about $100 dollars to listen to the whole story. Even though I believe that Morgan Rice is an awesome writer, I will not start another series. I just can't justify spending so much. Sorry Morgan!

NOOOOOOO!!!
Revisado: 12-11-22
Morgan is an amazing story teller and this episode is very like The Empire Strikes Back in Star Wars. By the end it seems like the story is over and there's no winning for the Rebellion. But this is the Author's way of setting up the next purchase. You have to buy the next book to find out what happens. It will take an amazing turn around to get everyone out of the last betrayal. I do wish Morgan Rice would make the books longer. By the time the whole story has been told, the listener has spent a lot of money. A good but expensive tale.

MINERALS ARE GOOD FOR YOU!
Revisado: 11-11-22
A very interesting magic system that is very VERY COOL! I am impressed with the story. I really enjoyed listening and I am excited to move on to the next installment. There is a certain amount of childish story telling with the fact that everyone seems to come through without dying, in the end. And it does take a while before you realize who is really the bad guys and who are not. Some real twists and turns. Well done!
