I can’t believe I’d never heard of Eric Thomas before finding this book! This is one of the best, if not THE best, motivational & personal development books I’ve read. This is one I’ll listen to over & over again. Well produced and very well read.

I have stacks of good books on recovery, and I’ve gained a lot from all of them. But the book, Unhooked, was an absolute game changer for me. It gave me real direction that I could grasp and implement. It was so freeing to take an action with confidence instead of with worry, self-doubt & guilt. I can’t believe how much better I feel. I even listen to the book over & over again, because I just love listening to the authors account of his journey. Phenomenal!!

Like all Carol Tuttle’s books, this one has highly beneficial, life-changing, content. Her performance has improved very much, over her earlier books....but still could be better. That said, I’m actually listening to this one multiple times to glean all I can from it. Listening is difficult, when emphasis is put on the wrong word in a sentence AND ALSO when there is no “break” or “natural pause” given between sentences, as appropriate. It would be helpful, if the chapters were titled instead of just numbered. There is no pdf offered with this Audible selection; this book would be ideal for an accompanying pdf.... While there is still room for improvement, Carol Tuttle's performance is much better than in her earlier books. I try to go back & listen to “Remembering Wholeness”..... I just can’t do it.... Would LOVE for her old recordings to be redone; content is phenomenal, but can be excruciating to listen to...

Since 1985, this book has been a daily staple for me. The messages are always so timely. Listening to it is just as good reading it, especially with the voices of these two beautifully accented narrators. I enjoy it anytime I’m wanting to wind down, relax, or just reconnect with God.

This is a great book, and I will apply the author’s advice in a number of ways. I love that she reads as if she’s sharing this information to a friend. There’s one aspect of her reading that I didn’t enjoy. She speaks as if she doesn’t want to wake the baby or something....speaking beneath her breath, just short of a whisper. I heard her interview on the Typology podcast, and she did not speak that way on there. She was full voiced and easy to hear. I’ll look forward to hearing other books, but I’d prefer the Typology interview version of her voice. Great content!

I’m a huge personal development fan, so I’m always on the lookout for the latest & greatest. Rachel Hollis and Brendon Burchard are right at the top of the list. So when I heard Brendon Burchard interviewing Dave Hollis about his book, I couldn’t wait to get it! Dave does a great job reading his own book in a way that makes the listener feel he is in the room sharing from the heart, NOT sitting in a recording studio reading a book. This is a HUGE plus when listening to an audiobook. But the content was profound; Dave would make Brene Brown proud with his vulnerability. I totally understood his overuse of vodka during the writing, and yet he ended up writing about dealing with that issue as well! This is a GREAT read. I love the format; I love that AUDIBLE gave me the chapter names, not just the chapter numbers..... I’ll listen to this one multiple times, no doubt. Looking forward to Dave’s next book!!

I’ve studied a number of energy healing modalities, but this book goes enough deeper for it to click with me. I bought the paperback after listening multiple times to the audible version. I’ve underlined and highlighted so I can return to certain practices easily. Now, I’m headed to bed with earphones in, and listening to any chapter I decide to listen to, for the umpteenth time.

This story is so inspiring! And is actually very well written. That said.....
I listen to a lot of audio books and have come to appreciate a good reading performance. It’s amazing to me that some narrators do not appropriately apply emphasis. These authors do apply emphasis appropriately.....it is their story, after all! I only gave 3 stars to the performance because it sounded too much like an oral reading in 10th grade....by the shy kid who was dreading their turn to read. I didn’t let that stop me from listening to it, and I’m glad I made it through. It really is a great story. I’m inspired! My comments are given as constructive criticism only! I would encourage them to read again in the future, but with more “stage presence” .... :-)

I love Chip and Joanna, so I hate to say anything negative about them. I loved the story, but the performance was lacking. I've listened to many authors read their own book. Most have a tendency to sound like they're standing in front of the class reading to their fellow students. An assigned duty. Let's get this over with. A rare few sound as if they're talking to you in the moment....or like they're speaking to an eager crowd.
Chip and Joanna were "reading" their book. I still love them, and I think they'll probably be better on the next one. It probably takes a bit of practice. Kristin Chenoweth and Richard Gerber are excellent readers of their own books.

Steve Chandler is the bomb!!

I loved Steve Chandler's 100 Ways to Motivate Yourself, so I was eager to listen to 100 Ways to Motivate Others. His humorously deadpan use of his magnificent deep speaking voice keeps me fully engaged, which makes the audiobook more desirable than reading a hard copy...
My goal was to find advice I could use to better parent a 24 yr. old son still living at home & not yet on a clear path for the future. This book was very helpful, but I also heard things that my husband might benefit from in his leadership role as general manager at a manufacturing plant in the aerospace industry. Good content that a listener could apply in many aspects of life.
