Definitely Read This in the Right Order
Revisado: 01-04-23
This is called a "Novella" but it is still a part of the sequential story. Make sure to read it in between the two longer novels it falls between. I'm on my second time through all the Jane Yellowrock stories and I love it even more than my first time through. If Vamps, Witches, Weres, and other musical creatures are your thing, along with a strong female lead, you will be thrilled with this series. Simply fantastic!!

I just listened to this book for the third time in a five year time frame so I do keep coming back to listen again. I enjoyed the characters and some of the original concepts in a magical world.

Historia
Elizabeth Black is the headmistress of a girls' school in 1830s Victorian London. She is also a well-respected author of stories written both for and about the upper-class ladies of Victorian society. But by night, she writes very different kinds of stories - the Penny Dreadfuls that are all the rage among the working-class men. Under the pseudonym Charles King, Elizabeth has written about dashing heroes fighting supernatural threats, intelligent detectives solving grisly murders, and dangerous outlaws romancing helpless women.

Very Fun Story With Interesting Bonus...
Revisado: 04-23-22
This story is fun and entertaining as well as heartwarming with a bit of action. It also has stories within the story which took a bit to figure out as I listened but once I understood that I was hearing excerpts from Penny Dreadful stories within the main plot, those extras were a lot of fun. It's like getting four books in one! I have to say that I really like this series of the "Proper Romance" collection. I'm so tired of sex scenes popping up in the middle of an otherwise good book. I wish there was a rating system so I could know ahead of time what level of explicit scenes are included. These books price that a good story can stand in it's own merit without gratuitous sex thrown in to sell it. Thank you Sarah M. Eden for keeping it clean and giving us fun characters & stories to enjoy.

My New Favorite of this Series!!!
Revisado: 04-21-22
Okay, I totally lived this book! I am always SOOOO grateful when the author adds in a bit of humor to balance the killing, fighting, betraying, power-grabbing, diabolical unending action!! This author did exactly that... Fit in some humor along the way while keeping the story right on point. I loved the main character and watching his journey unfold to its conclusion. I almost want to listen again right now. I will definitely mark this book as a favorite to enjoy again in the future. Narrator did a great job!

Better than the first!!
Revisado: 04-20-22
I have really enjoyed the first two books in this series. I'm going that there will be more. Each book was great in its own way and it was nice to have a change of pace in the second book. I listened to it in one day. Couldn't put it down. The only down side for me was the difference in Mateo's voice between the first book and the second. Listening to his voice in the first book was audible golden honey... I could listen to that voice forever regardless of what the dialogue was. I was really disappointed when the narrator did not match what she did with his voice in the first book. Maybe it was intentional but it made it harder for me to follow. Still, a very minor pet peeve of mine that others will probably not notice. Can't wait for the next book in the series.

Tasked with protecting the Republic's interests on a mining world, the legionnaires face roadside ambushes, double-dealing locals, and constant sabotage. And the mission isn’t as straightforward as they thought it would be. As skirmishes escalate into coordinated ambushes, two squad leaders, Talon and Lankin, are forced to chase after the sparks threatening to ignite the entire populace into a full-blown insurgency.

Loved This Book!!!
Revisado: 04-16-22
This is a grab you fast and hold on tight book... I could not put it down with the non-stop action. The characters were well developed and likeable (except for the Points, of course!) It's hard to go back in time from GE Season Two to the past era of the Point system but that is inevitable when telling stories from shortly before Kublar. I really enjoyed this book a lot. I was sorry when it ended. It's a little confusing with the random portions of a legionnaire's letter being read out at the start of each chapter but once I figured out that was part of the story and not editing errors, I adjusted to it. If you love the action-packed battles in Galaxy's Edge, you'll enjoy this book. It is pure adrenaline! Narrator was PERFECT!

The Iron Wolves are a company of legionnaires whose legendary exploits date back to the Savage Wars. When they are invited to be guests of honor at a ceremony on a small, backwater planet, they look forward to some precious time away from the constant conflicts of galaxy's edge. But when a neighboring country invades, disrupting the ceremony and killing innocents, the Wolves are forced to make an impossible decision. Aid a people pleading for their protection...or obey the cynical orders of their senate to stand down and see how the dust settles.

Okay In Between Story...
Revisado: 04-11-22
I'm a huge fan of the whole GE world and I've read most of the books. This was not my favorite. It's an okay filler book for in between other stories but it did not captivate me as much as the first book in this series. I absolutely love Jonathan Davis as a narrator but a few of the intense voices went a bit over the top in this book. I was actually concerned about permanent damage to his vocal chords! I'm still glad I read it. Can't get enough of Galaxy's Edge in all its storylines.

OMG!! A Must Read for GE Fans!!
Revisado: 03-29-22
I've listened to almost every book in the Galaxy's Edge world and there are series I have liked better or worse than others. This book is definitely in my "favorites" group. This backstory on Washam is phenomenal as well as the story of the beginning of the Points and first glimpses of other key characters that show up later. I really enjoyed this book a lot and hope that the rest of this series is just as good.
