Historia
In medieval times, uncharted waters were marked on maps as Here Be Dragons to signify that no one knew what dangers might lie ahead. Melanie Shankle quips that the years spent raising our teenage daughters could be labeled the same due to the uncertainties before us. Filled with personal stories and written in the same whimsical and honest style Melanie is known for, Here Be Dragons will have you both laughing out loud and crying—as you confront the challenges of raising your own strong, independent daughter while fighting dragons along the way.

Heart and soul story
Revisado: 05-03-25
As a mama of two girls- one teen and one tween- this book hit deep in my soul. Melanie was so vulnerable in sharing this story with us and I am so grateful for the life lesson nuggets I gained because she was so courageous and willing to share it with the world. My biggest fear is for my girls to suffer in life in anyway- but I’m learning that protecting and sheltering would only rob them of the opportunity to grow resilient for whatever life might have. I love that Melanie has a beautiful scripture connection to these hard life moments to help the reader/listener stay anchored to the ONE who holds it all. I’m sharing this story with my other mom friends to remind them that it’s ok to not be ok or have it all together and it’s ok to remove poison from our lives and not suffer for the sake of pleasing others. Melanie’s stories have never failed to make me both cry and laugh through every book she’s written but I would read them all again and again because of the change in wonderful perspective they always provide me. Her storytelling style is truly a delight!

Historia
After calling off her fall wedding, horror novelist Amy Fox is left with a broken heart, a mega case of writer's block, and a serious aversion to all things pumpkin spice. If she doesn't make sure that he's back on his feet, Grandpa may be moved into assisted living, and Amy's beloved childhood home will be put on the market.

Enjoyable love story
Revisado: 03-06-24
Very enjoyable cast of characters with fun twists and turns in relationship development along the way. Characters felt very real as did the town itself. Really wish that I could see Daisy’s beautiful drawings of the garden and her winter ball gown of course! I’m excited to tuck into the next book! Well done!

I need more
Revisado: 01-30-24
What an absolutely delightful and wholesome story! The author has a profoundly sweet way of developing the voice of each lovable character. I could not get enough of this wonderful little town and each of its occupants we were introduced to. The characters felt so tangible that I almost forgot I did not know them in real life. I am bursting with anticipation to dive into her next book in this series! To add to the overall delight of this wonderfully enjoyable book; was listening to it on the Audible version. Well done Katie, well done! Thank you for delighting us with your sweet cast of characters and your warm, clear affection for every misfit in our Lutheran Church family.

Delightful suspense and cozy at the same time
Revisado: 01-09-23
The author did a wonderful job setting the scene and making the characters feel very human and their creature personas. I love how beautifully she paints the seasonal attributes that make the whole story knit well together in a very cozy suspenseful drama. Was thoroughly delighted by the characters and the overall storyline that kept me coming back for the next turn of events. This was my first book in her series and I am excited to delve into others I am so glad I stumbled upon this gem.

Historia
If you’re anything like Sophie Hudson, your initial reaction to the hard stuff - the pieces and parts of life that keep you up at night, relentlessly reminding you that the “simple and easy” path is somehow a turn you must’ve missed along the way - is to try to figure out how to make it go away. You might wonder if it’s possible to just ignore it, or, better yet, to burn it all down. But what Sophie found during a particularly difficult stretch is that the Lord, through his word and his people, faithfully reveals how to get up, straighten up, and stand all the way up.

Delightful with Sass
Revisado: 07-31-20
Sophie feels like a relatable friend helping me acknowledge that my struggles, fears and crazy family are not as far off from normal as I had a thought. She encourages with the beautiful reminders of God’s word woven through each chapter of her life. I felt like I was growing in my own areas of struggle right along side her. I adore her ability to find the humor in the difficult moments and her undeniable sassy independence. Adored this book! Thank you Sophie.
