An isekai NOT based on video games, barely D&D. A great escape into magical normalcy, with no high stakes, only the slice of life lives of those in a friendly town

This live-action, 12-episode TV series does the "fun, robbing the bad guys heists" format absolutely great! Its over the top stylish news (when doing the heists) replaces the cartoon is news of Lupin III. And don't forget her childhood friends thief who thinks he's in a musical.

The story arc involves Haha in love with a police detective from a family of police officers out to catch the notorious L Family - her father, mother, and grandmother - who could be related to Arson Lupin , if you want to see it in the final episode.

Note, halfway through, the story arc takes an unexpected turn, just like in Lipid III.

Re-Easternizing and Demystifying the Way

This is like sitting in on a university class with a professor very classically trained and practiced in using the voice. But that is about the only nod to Western classicism. In it's exhaustive clarity, this book divorced me from that, the mysticism and other notions that have grown up from the misunderstandings of various translators have inserted into their works. And I am grateful to Moeller. There are ideas I disagree with and that do not wholly line up with modern demonstratable knowledge, but that is okay within the daoist framework. Live with and use contradictions. Creativity is found in ambiguity. I am trying out the Taoist perspective because of Moeller's book.

I have downloaded audible and book of Ames and Hall's "Dao De Jing" as this, too, seems to aim at seeing daoism in a similar light, in a similar fashion.

Actor vs Orator

I first got Grover Gardner's version. He sounded just how I imagined Mark Train should sound like. But by Chapter 16 I wanted to hear pauses. So, I used one of my credits to save myself some money and got this, Robin Field's, version. I'm up to Chapter 46 as I write this. This is somebody who sounds well rehearsed in the part. He sounds quite a lot like what I heard when YouTube'd "Mark Train's Voice". The real one wasn't an orator. He was " folksy". (The actor in Field insists on taking on totally different voices as he does others' dialog, something Twain may not have done with such skill.)

The reason I took away a star from the performance was because I was looking for somebody who had more comedic timing. And I took a star away from the story because often it wasn't comedic. Mark Twain wasn't politically correct, but he did seem to be an equal opportunity offender. He was just as offended by European wrechedness as Turkish and Arabic, Jewish and the Christianity of his fellow travellers. And yet in the very next section he could be giving well-crafted, descriptive praises.
