This is not what I expected. It’s a journey, a self love letter. It’s real, raw, it’s valuable. A great listen.

So, my friend recommended me this book because I told her I’ve never read a spicy book. She said that this was considered this to be “vanilla” but a good start. And well, I agree with her. I found the book to be funny though I don’t know if that was the authors intention at times. I liked the characters and the story. The performances definitely helped. I went through it in two days. And now reading the second one.

I was surprised by the book if I’m being completely honest. I’m a fan of the LiS series and who also enjoys the character of Steph from Before the Storm and more specifically True Colors. I decided to give this a listen to and I’m glad to say this was a decent book about a young woman dealing with grief and love. Is it a good book for newcomers? No, not really. It definitely feels like a book built around a character the author believe the audience already knows. But the performance from Katy Bentz who returns to play Steph from the game nails the read and made it very compelling.
