At last!
Revisado: 03-20-23
I've read the entire Tales of the High Court series several times, and I've listened to the audio books even more. So I've been waiting anxiously and eagerly for this fifth book. It is wonderful! On the surface, Chaz and Desmond seem an unlikely couple, but they are both truly survivors and have endured roles in life and situations they had no choice in. The story is intense and filled with hardship, but the end brings the hoped-for HEA. I enjoyed Michael Stellman's narration -- I think he does a great job. I was relieved that he narrated this last book. When the narrator changes in the middle of a series, I often find it a little jarring. I highly recommend this series and this book.

Historia
It’s been months since aspiring journalist Kian Andrews has heard from his ex-boyfriend, Hudson Rivers, but an urgent text has them meeting at a café. Maybe Hudson wants to profusely apologize for the breakup. Or confess his undying love. . . But no, Hudson has a favor to ask—he wants Kian to pretend to be his boyfriend while his parents are in town, and Kian reluctantly agrees.

Another great story!
Revisado: 01-02-23
This author was new to me, and I so enjoyed Mr. Jackson's most recent book, A Dash of Salt and Pepper, that I turned right around and listened to this story. I enjoyed this one just as much. It's a second-chance romance with delightful, well-developed characters. The narration by Timothy Bell Reese was excellent and brought the humor in the story to life. I highly recommend this book.

Historia
Xavier Reynolds is doing less than stellar. He just got dumped, was passed over for a prestigious fellowship, and to top it all off he's right back home in Harper's Cove, Maine (population: 9,000). The last thing he wants to do is to work as a prep chef in the kitchen of the hip new restaurant in town, The Wharf. Especially since the hot, single-father chef who owns it can’t delegate to save his life.

Such a treat!
Revisado: 01-02-23
This author was new to me, and I am SO happy I took a chance on this book. The story is wonderful and deals with real-life issues and problems. The characters are fascinating and believable. The narration by Joshua David Scarlett was delightful and brought the humor in the story to life. I enjoyed this book so much that I immediately turned around and listened to Mr. Jackson's earlier book, I Am So (Not) Over You and liked it just as much. I highly recommend this book.

Such a treat!
Revisado: 05-28-22
To Hold a Hidden Pearl is one of my favorite books, so it really made my day to learn that it was now on Audible. Richard Stranks does a wonderful job of narrating. Lucien's snarky, cut-crystal, upper-class accent is perfect, and Jay's much more work-class accent is contrasted perfectly. The portrayal of Lucien's verbal, defensive wall that protects his devastated heart is handled deftly, and Jay's journey of discovery and anxiety about the chaos he has wrought is, by turns, achingly beautiful and sad. This audiobook will be added to my repeating re-listen list from now on.
