Slow take off.

It took me a moment to get into the book. I started it, go listen to something else. Come back to this, gets boring, go listen to something else. It was about midway through that I really begin to appreciate the book. First of all Nyx's name kept throwing me off because I just read one of Kresley Coles's books, and she has a pretty important character in her books named Nyx. I loved the twist on the sister at the end, did not see that one coming. I wish there could have been more book time with Jackal and his newfound brother. Now I have questions. Why didn't Nyx go to the brotherhood, to begin with? I loved how the grandpa was not really a heartless vampire.

Unfulfilled but good.

There is a lot of sex in the book; however, there is love also, even if it is in denial. Midori says she is with Jaydah just for the sex but cannot walk away from her. It is hardly ever "just sex" between two women. Midori, in my opinion, has fallen in love with Jaydah but doesn't necessarily want to leave her cushiony little life with her husband despite being successful on her own. I usually do not listen to/ read books like this; however, I was bored and thought I would give it a go. I felt like the book was a little disjointed. Like the relationship between Jaydah and the model...Jaydah said she was kicking it back with her because she was not satisfied with the revenge that she and Midori gave. But she never did anything to call it quits with her, and the girl was just like, okay. Then Jaydah becomes infatuated with some other woman and is like over Midori just like that. That is not the way love works. On the other end, Midori tries to leave her husband for the hundredth time while still trying to give Jaydah the kitty. Midori was all mad and upset with her husband because he was lying, disloyal, and dishonest..chile that should have been your first last, and middle name. How will you call someone else out on their mess when you are doing the same thing? Maybe if they had been honest, to begin with, everybody could have gotten what they wanted.

What disappointed you about Hard Day's Knight?

It feels like a knock off of Harry Dresden, except they are vampires. What was suppose to be snarky remarks came across and said pathetic attempts at humor. They weren't even two decades old and acting as if they were centuries old.

What was most disappointing about John G. Hartness’s story?

It felt like a knock off of Harry Dresden. Reading the excerpt, this book had so much potential, that just went down the drain. The best part of the book was the end, the priest, and the fallen angel.

What didn’t you like about Nick J. Russo’s performance?

Lackluster. There wasn't much difference in between characters voices. There was very little to no emotions expressed.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

The fallen angel went home.

Face Palm.

I should have stopped with the first book. But no, I just had to find out what happened, and I was really disappointed. This is a work fiction, and the author act as if she has no imagination what so ever. The plot was stupid, the main character was ditzy, and the narrator made everyone sound stupid. I would like to know how Eli is feeling once he wakes up and realizes what Scarlet has done, but not enough to sit through another one of these darn books.

In this book, Nick is learning, albeit the hard way, who he can trust and who's smiling while holding a knife behind their back. I was a little disappointed there was only a brief mention of Acheron, but the Simi got to break out the bbq sauce. We got a new ally, loving his Scottish ass.

I love Nate anyway. I was happy to see Hades and his wife made a appearance. Well actually they was pretty much throughout the whole book. I was a lot disappointed at the page count. I felt sad about Pandora, and I really hope she forgives Nate, I think they had a beautiful relationship. Lots actions, magic throwing, truths revealed. Now maybe some healing can be done. Looking forward to Nates next adventure.

loved all the twists and turns in this book. I might have been left with more questions than answers, but also left craving the next installment. Kenyon is one of my favorite authors and has yet to disappoint.

I felt like something was missing from the book. There were a lot of instances were Myst forgot about the baby. Like when she freaked and ran away. I think everyone forgot about the baby then. And at the end, the only mention of the baby was from its father and never again. I would like to know where they do that at.
