Story Come to Life
Revisado: 09-13-24
I’m a big fan of Mary Jane Wells. As a reader she is not only extremely pleasant to listen to she is also exceptional at bringing the various characters to life with distinct personalities and voices. I LOVE Chinook!!! The story is terribly romantic without being sappy. I loved it and hope to find more similar stories by Kathryn Trattner.

Not boring at all
Revisado: 01-11-24
Every story I’ve listened to - written by Lisa Kleypas and narrated by Mary Jane Wells- has been wonderful. Although Chasing Cassandra didn’t have the drama in the other stories, it had the character development characteristic of the other books in the Ravenel series. Before buying this book I looked at the reviews and was at first put off by one review that felt the book was slow and dull. I happen to like the characters and how we get to know them through each story and this one was no different. I wanted to know what happened with Cassandra and what her future would look like. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and hate to have the series end. If you’re enjoying the books and are more interested in the characters rather than the just the storyline, I think you’ll enjoy this book too. Think of it as a stroll rather than a run; it is paced more leisurely than some of the other books.

Wonderful story!
Revisado: 02-23-18
If you could sum up The Mirror of Her Dreams in three words, what would they be?
Well rounded story
Who was your favorite character and why?
The Tor - he is an unexpected character that goes basically from one extreme to another in the story. You can't help but sympathize with him.
What does Scott Brick bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I've read the books (this one and the second one, two in the series) at least 10 times. They are among my all time favorite stories. Scott Brick brings emotion into the story that I have overlooked when I reading them. Listening to him helps me understand each character better and what motivates them.

Unexpected and enjoyable
Revisado: 11-02-17
The beginning started slow. There was a great deal of information that caused the slow beginning. Once the story started to develop the importance of the information provided in the beginning becomes clear. A well thought out and planned story with everything answered at the end.

Maybe it was the Shenanigans gift certificate that put her over the edge. When children's librarian and self-professed nice girl Jane Jameson is fired by her beastly boss and handed $25 in potato skins instead of a severance check, she goes on a bender that's sure to become Half Moon Hollow legend. On her way home, she's mistaken for a deer, shot, and left for dead.

Historia
In 1915, Sherlock Holmes is retired and quietly engaged in the study of honeybees in Sussex when a young woman literally stumbles onto him on the Sussex Downs. Fifteen years old, gawky, egotistical, and recently orphaned, the young Mary Russell displays an intellect to impress even Sherlock Holmes. Under his reluctant tutelage, this very modern, twentieth-century woman proves a deft protégée and a fitting partner for the Victorian detective.

Narrator did a great job with the characters and the various tones and moods of the story. Laurie R Kings series synchronizes the era and personality of Holmes perfectly.
