Another exciting installment of a series that takes the reader on a historic trek. Captain Merriman, the HMS Aphodity and his heroic crew fighting spies, and French enemies of the crown. Beware of female spies.

Any piece of literature should be judged by the flow of the story, character depth and immersion of the reader in the plot wanting more in the end.
This story hits all the spots.
Looking forward to more.

A well written story about the Crusades. All apects of writing are there from believable storyline, character development and realistic dialogue, to make this an excellent literary work.

I can not t wait to dive in to parts 2 and 3.

So Reset means killing off humans to save the planet. You want to stop pollution? Go tell China and India to stop poluting. Russia is o better. I don't need the lectures. They do.
What a waste of a book. And a credit. I'll never waste money on this writer again.

Not a bad story. Just once, when I hear narators pronounce Ancient or modern Greek words, would actually use the Greek pronunciation. Instead they use the romanised version. It a makes no sense and B is insulting to us Greeks who hear it. Do try to get a Greek speaker to advise the narators. Authenticity...what a concept.

Interesting story. But it has some historical flaws. Sokratis (not Socrates) was affiliated with the conservative faction more so than the Periklis reformers. And none of them ever proposed freeing slaves. The narration. The mispronounciation of Greek words made me cringe. Take my word for it, that 90% of it is wrong. Using latinized Roman versions of Greek words is insulting. If one is reading Greek words, using Greek pronunciation is not a stretch.

The Persian empire is a must study for any student of History. The Persians of ancient times were more tolerant of other cultures, religions and knowledge than their current decendants. But saddly the early part of this lecture series focuses on the recent academic trend to take Greek (western culture) down a notch. If the listener can make it through that, there is an opportunity to learn about Persia, its people, culture, religion and meteoric early rise. A worthy effort.
