Logan Kincaid was sent to Oregon City on ranch business for the Cooke brothers and the Triple C. He sold the cattle he brought, played detective for the Cooke's as instructed, due to the mayhem of several weeks prior. (You can listen about them in Her Prairie Viking Prairie Brides, Book Four.) Unfortunately, he came up empty-handed. He'd hoped beyond hope he'd have something to bring back to Clear Creek that would help the Cookes and the tiny town....

Historical Romance based on true facts
Revisado: 07-06-20
Rebellious Heart is an intriguing love story built on factual events with an addition of the author’s “creative juice” in filling in the gaps.
The setting are events leading to the British- American Revolutionary War for independence . It is a touching, enlightening story portraying the tyranny and misuse of justice by some in authority from England. The American colonies were so far from England that they failed to receive proper representation, became heavily taxed to the point that only the very wealthy could survive.
A few, in authority were very cruel and unjust, thus, they even alienated many who were, originally, strong British supporters.
This is a love story, yet contains a lot of action, danger, and dramatic scenes from history .
Although Narrator, Mary Sarah Agliotta, does a fair job of narration, her performance, using various “ voices” is inconsistent and weak. She is definitely not a “first choice “ in the dramatic delivery.
The drama created around factual events was well done and quite touching.

To Louisa Tanner, Jack Doyle is perfect - heart surgeon, loving single father, and best friend a girl could have - so it's no surprise when he's tapped as the next Mister Perfect for the reality dating series Marrying Mister Perfect. But watching her secret crush romancing gorgeous women on national television? That flat out sucks - even if he will never see her as more than a pal.

This is a passionate “chick lit”.
Revisado: 07-04-20
If you are in the mood for a fairly predictable, slightly explicit, love story, this is it.
The story is about a widower who is a heart surgeon and a woman who was a friend of his departed wife and now his best friend and nanny for his two children. She had never let him know of her decade long crush on him. Always casually dressed, wearing a pony tail, and little makeup, his nanny/best friend was comfortable and he never saw her as anything more.
The doctor seemed perfect in every way. Another reality show director friend of the nanny/best friend was looking for the next “Mr. Perfect“ to try and match with the perfect wife was able to persuade the doctor to a two month spot on the show to become the new “Mr. Perfect “. This was more than the doctor anticipated and awakened him to new sensations.
The nanny turned to her best friend, Kelly, to help her make the best of it.
It is a fairly well written drama, yet quite predictable. The characters are well defined and endearing. The scenes are easily visualized.
There is a few words of profanity and two explicit sex scenes.
Narrator, Ava Erickson, did a good job in her performance.

When Morgan Shaw crept into the hold of an old pirate ship replica at San Diego's annual Tall Ship Festival, her only intention was to avoid the guy who had just dumped her and who was now boarding the ship with two women on his arm. What she didn't expect was to wake up aboard a real pirate ship 300 years in the past. But of course, it wasn't real. Her wealthy father had obviously staged it all in an effort to get her mind off her upcoming chemo. Or had he?

This is a fantasy well worth listening to!
Revisado: 07-01-20
The young woman, Morgan, was recently diagnosed with a third stage cancer on her right side. She also took medicine for OCD. Heartbroken, she shared the news with her boyfriend of several months, only to have him use this to break up with her.
She was with her best friend to a celebration in San Diego. They visited a duplicate of a Pirate’s ship. She lingered at a picture of a famous pirate, while the crowd moved onto the next exhibit. She became lost while trying to catch up with the rest of the tour.
Finding herself alone in what appeared to be the captain’s cabin, she discovered an antique ruby amulet. Frustrated, she sat down and cried while rubbing off the dust on the ornament. Suddenly, unexpectedly, she was thrust into events which would change her life forever.
This is a very entertaining, well written, creative work, full of adventure, mystery, romance and wonder. It is also contains an inspiring element of Christianity.
My emotions were scattered throughout the tale. It depicted the incredible, to the frightening, then heart wrenching, and finally the delightful.
The characters seemed very real and the scenes depicted in a manner one could imagine himself/herself there. The ending was unexpected.
Narrator, Mary Sarah Agliotta, did an outstanding job in the delivery.

This is a delightful, humorous Historical Romance
Revisado: 06-30-20
The Spring Duchess is a whimsical yet, alluring tale of a charming but crass Duke , forced to wed a petulant, annoying woman of the “ton”. He barley said, “I do”, before sending her to his country estate while he moved in with his mistress .
Almost a year later, he discovers his rogue cousin will contest his grandfather’s will if he is not living as a true husband. How is he going to accomplish this?
This novella will surely keep the listener’s complete attention. The characters are very endearing. The scenes are hilarious.
Successfully narrated by, Jillian Eaton, the tale will entertain for a few hours of listening enjoy.
I would love to see this made into a movie. I feel it would delight most audiences.

This is a steamy, predictable well written love story
Revisado: 06-25-20
Although this was way too explicit for my taste, it was well written, with endearing characters, portrayed in a manner they felt real.
The story was somewhat unique, yet, predictable. The scenes were described in a way it was easy to feel a part of.
Shannon McManus did an excellent job in her narration of the story and of the various voices.

This is a good book on spousal abuse
Revisado: 06-19-20
This is an account of a wealthy, successful surgeon who married a very attractive woman who bore him two attractive daughters. He had the ideal life- an attractive, dutiful wife, two well- behaved daughter’s, money, affluent background, successful profession, and freedom to do whatever he wanted to do. Now that his youngest was out of High School, his wife could bear no more abuse.
Another couple had stayed together for years in a very dysfunctional marriage. The young man had a successful landscaping business. The woman was single with two little boys from different fathers. She was destitute. He took them in and raised the boys as though they were his own blood. The mother, his wife, would often leave them for undisclosed amounts of time. He could not divorce her or he would lose the sons.
As both situations had endured for the children’s sakes, both victims sought a divorce.
Coincidentally both victims became acquainted. Neither one knew of the horrors he/she would be endure, once the spouse discovered he/she was really gone.
The Narrator, Therese Plummer, was effective in her performance of the various characters. Her “voices “ were consistent and believable. Her voice influxions

An intriguing older woman, younman novel
Revisado: 06-17-20
The widow Lady Elizabeth was in her mid-thirties, yet refused most offers, wanting her next marriage to be made with love... Hopefully adding children to the communion.
Young Lord Collins had resigned himself the necessity of choosing a wife to better fulfill his Title.
The two discover a strong connection between them and enjoyment of waltzing together at Balls.
With Elizabeth’s guilt and great social difficulty, the possibility of obtaining their desires is doubtful.
The Narrator,Roselyn Landor's voice was a terrible choice for the narration. The maturity of her voice was
that of an elderly queen. Although she was well-read and "proper" sounding, the tone was quite annoying.

Contemporay romance recommended for those over 18
Revisado: 06-17-20
A genius, young professor struggles with anxiety issues over students in her charge, with their emotionally driven problems.
After much negative feedback, from associates and clients, she is put on a short leave period to complete the grant she had been approved for her dissertation. Since she has always been ruled by logic alone, she was given the challenge of learning empathy.
This is a story of how difficult it is for many young geniuses to interact with the average peers. It is a story of overcoming one's own prejudices to experience and become aware of others situations and reactions. She becomes a friend with one of her clients and gains the courage to approach her next door neighbor to interview and help her.
The Narrator, Rhiannon Angell performs an excellent delivery in the various "voices" and emphasis. She adds accentuation to the sometimes humorous phases.
The author's writing and creativity was very good.
