Historia
When Sandra Leigh was seven years old, she fell into the role of protector of her mother and three younger siblings. One winter night, she ushered her mother out of the house during one of her father’s tirades, and then snuck her back into the dark home through a window. Sandra was used to events like these; what she wasn’t used to were the mountains and nature surrounding her new home in West Virginia.

I ofter try a new author with trepidation, but this was a lovely light read.. kept me interested.. I felt like I'd love to know more about how the rest of the family faired after the book had ended so am hoping there is a second part to this story...

Historia
Gracie Reed is doing just fine. Sure, she was fired by her overly “friendly” boss, and yes, she still hasn’t gotten her mother into the nursing home of their dreams, but she’s healthy, she’s (somewhat) happy, and she’s (mostly) holding it all together. But when a mysterious SUV pulls up beside her, revealing Chinese cinema's golden couple Wei Fangli and Sam Yao, Gracie’s world is turned on its head. The famous actress has a proposition: Due to their uncanny resemblance, Fangli wants Gracie to be her stand-in.

Loved this narrator! Enjoyed this light read.. would probably not have bought this book but it was included in my subscription so thought I'd try it out.. was a little predictable but needed to listen to something a little less involved than I had been.. can't find anything else by this author but will keep an eye out.. - worth the read..

Thought provoking.. As always I prefer the book to the movie.. deals with real life traumatic issues, sexual abuse, child abuse, racism, sexism.. in my opinion it's definitely recommend♡

brilliant!

My regard for the migrants has definitely increased 100 fold since reading this book.. to understand that each of those seeking refuge have an individual story for why they would leave all that they know to travel so dangerously through much hardship to eventually reach somewhere they can feel safe enough to begin from scratch..
