The whining!

I’ve loved Brandon’s books for a lot of years but this one has left me not wanting more but feeling like the years long wait was met with hours and hours of character whining and the same story being told over and over again in this series. We hear 5 more books to finish but I’m pretty sure it’ll be more than 5 with more years long waits for…? I’ll give it another listen and I hope I can get more into this series.

I feel this book could have been the first three chapters of the next one. The same near death struggles and crazy ideas was over done. I loved all of the books leading up to this one. Don't get me wrong. I liked it just fine but expected so much more.

There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.
