Something strange is happening at the Orsk furniture superstore in Cleveland. Every morning, employees arrive to find broken Kjerring wardrobes, shattered Brooka glassware, and vandalized Liripip sofa beds—clearly someone, or something, is up to no good. I don't do well with blood and gore and this book describes it in a way that makes my skin crawl. I couldn't stop listening though and I'm glad I stuck it out. this was such a good story, very creepy, and definitely worth a listen if you like to be creeped out.

Historia
Sixteen-year-old Siria Nightingale has never seen the sun. That’s because Queen Iyzabel shrouded the kingdom in shadow upon her ascent to the throne, with claims it would protect her subjects from the dangerous Light. The Darkness has always left Siria uneasy, and part of her still longs for the stories of the Light-filled days she once listened to alongside her best friend, Linden, told in secret by Linden’s grandfather. But Siria’s need to please her strict and demanding parents means embracing the dark and heading to the royal city.

Quite enjoyable
Revisado: 06-15-21
This was a very good book. Part of the ending was confusing and unsatisfying, but that's just because I'd become so attached to the characters and their growth through out the story, and the end left some loose ends untied. Still worth the listen, though.

Historia
This stunning debut captures the grotesque madness of Underland, as well as a girl’s pangs of first love and independence. Alyssa Gardner hears the whispers of bugs and flowers - precisely the affliction that landed her mother in a mental hospital years before. This family curse stretches back to her ancestor Alice Liddell, the real-life inspiration for Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Alyssa might be crazy, but she manages to keep it together. For now.

This book did resonate with me.
Revisado: 05-20-21
This book isn't a bad story, I just wasn't interested in it after a while. The first half was very good, but the last half lost me. The main character's indecision and wishy-washy way of dealing with things became frustrating and annoying to listen to, even with the wonderful narration. Probably not a book I'll care to experience again.

Historia
Isabelle should be blissfully happy - she's about to win the handsome prince. Except Isabelle isn't the beautiful girl who lost the glass slipper and captured the prince's heart. She's the ugly stepsister who cut off her toes to fit into Cinderella's shoe...which is now filling with blood. Isabelle cut away pieces of herself in order to become pretty. Sweet. More like Cinderella. But that only made her mean, jealous, and hollow. Now she has a chance to alter her destiny and prove what ugly stepsisters have always known: it takes more than heartache to break a girl.

Historia
Ten years ago, six friends went on vacation. One made it out alive... In that instant, college student Quincy Carpenter became a member of a very exclusive club - a group of survivors the press dubbed “The Final Girls”: Lisa, who lost nine sorority sisters to a college dropout's knife; Sam, who endured the Sack Man during her shift at the Nightlight Inn; and now Quincy, who ran bleeding through the woods to escape the massacre at Pine Cottage. Despite the media's attempts, the three girls have never met.

Always loved this book.
Revisado: 01-14-21
I've always loved howls moving castle. Always a good book and definitely worth the read. The voices given to each character, while not the voices I always give them, still bring the story to life and make for a very entertaining listen. And Jenny Sterlin sped up in exactly the parts I always speed reading through, giving the helter-skelter moments in the book the perfect amount of urgency.
