author sucks with characters.
Revisado: 01-11-23
This world is interesting and semi unique. Sadly, the author keeps making 3 major mistakes. He writes all characters as idiots. even supposedly old and wise people are stupider then a middle schooler ( main character party doesn't really get out of elementry.) Lastly, he forces the ploy by changing things out of the blue with organic reason and making minor people magically able to do things or incapable depending on what he wants to do. kept hoping the author would get better and write growth. sadly he seems to backtrack more then grow.

Historia
Having experienced his first survival type Trial, Trent Embra is eager to explore what else the world has to offer. There is only one problem. Not everyone comes away from a month of constant fighting untouched. Trent's friend Tersa is unhinged by her time in the Land of the Undying Lord, and Sergeant Cullen means to see her fixed. Enlisted to help, Trent is dragged toward another Trial, mostly willingly. Only time will tell if Tersa still has a place in the Guard and what the Infinite World has in store for Trent.

no consistency
Revisado: 01-05-23
the author seems to just throw stuff in to get where he wants in the story. I want to make Mc less tied down, I will let a minor powered keeper have the ability to destroy a powerful connection. I want him to be alone, I will have the same keeper miraculously power him so someone that is one the level of gods not be able to remember him.... of and everyone is a whiny 5 year old. ya, that works.....
His role model/ training man is just totally shitty at actually training and not being an abusive bully. it's like the author wanted to have him modeled after a US Drill Sargent, not really getting that he is just a verbally abusive and horrible trainer. Yet magically, he can get them to learn.

why the pause all the time?
Revisado: 07-30-20
the story is good and the performance is well done. Unfortunately, there is a few second dead air at every chapter end and start. I kept thinking audible was closing or mystery pausing me.

I loved this book. Steve ended his arc like his other books, plenty of action and wondering what the next book will hold.

Historia
It turns out, the "Demon Weed" actually is a gateway drug! Who knew? Tom Perkinje certainly didn't. He had never smoked anything in his life, but as the new kid in town trying to make friends, he foolishly let his new buddy Reggie talk him into trying a joint that he'd picked up from a new dealer. Before he knew it, Tom was having a seriously bad trip; a total out-of-body experience where the world had dissolved around him.

Historia
You see plenty of strange things when you're a PI in Las Vegas, but even that couldn't prepare ex-cop Robert Hoskins for what was to come. At first he couldn't believe that all those stories he'd been told as a child were true. But hearing that the fae had taken the casinos over from the mob was something else. Elves, dwarves, werewolves and faeries were just the beginning and battling dark mages, the opening act.

Some issues on both story and performance.
Revisado: 05-02-17
Not a bad story overall. My major issues is the author really needs to get a editor to proof for for consistency. They kept changing names of God's with others and even within a chapter the story changes facts. PROOFING NEEDED.
As for the performance, the sound comes out scratchy and distant like it was recorded in a low quality sound stage. Many parts of the story when different people talk volume changes drastically. This causes you to miss part and then feel like you are screamed at.
