Historia
From the Bowery Boys and the Five Points Gang through the rise of the Jewish "Kosher Nostra" and the ascendance of the Italian Mafia, mobsters have played a major role in the city's history, lurking just around the corner or inside that nondescript building. Bill "the Butcher" Poole, Paul Kelly, Monk Eastman, "Lucky" Luciano, Carlo Gambino, Meyer Lansky, Mickey Spillane, John Gotti - each held sway over New York neighborhoods that nurtured them and gave them power.

this was a detailed study of the mob; from it's fledgling beginnings to modern day. I found this to be an enjoyable listen. being a native new yorker, the narrator irritated me by butchering many of the street name pronunciations. narrator aside, it was a great history lesson.

Historia
On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed. What if you could change it back? In this brilliantly conceived tour de force, Stephen King - who has absorbed the social, political, and popular culture of his generation more imaginatively and thoroughly than any other writer - takes listeners on an incredible journey into the past and the possibility of altering it.

30 hours of pure listening pleasure!
Revisado: 08-12-15
This is so unlike any Stephen King novel you may have read in the past. Devoid of the usual gore and horror, this book is delightfully suspenseful. King paints a vivid portrait of life in America during the late 50's/ early 60's. It spins "What would you change if you could go back in time?" on it's ear. What is already a great tale is made even better by the narrator. He did a phenomenal job of giving each and every character in the book their own distinct voice. He manages to capture the correct tone and even the regional dialect of the characters. The narrator made you feel like you were sitting at his knee while he spun this wildly fantastic yarn. This novel took me through a wide range of emotions,; something I haven't experienced in a long time with a book. Well worth the price of admission!

Historia
There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

So many genres rolled up into one novel. Had me on the edge of my seat. great story line for either a mini series or a movie. I absolutely loved the narrator, he really brought the story to life.

Historia
On a warm spring evening in South Los Angeles, a young man is shot and killed on a sidewalk minutes away from his home, one of the thousands of Black Americans murdered that year. His assailant runs down the street, jumps into an SUV, and vanishes, hoping to join the scores of killers in American cities who are never arrested for their crimes. But as soon as the case is assigned to Detective John Skaggs, the odds shift.
