Lily hasn’t always had it easy, but that’s never stopped her from working hard for the life she wants. She’s come a long way from the small town where she grew up—she graduated from college, moved to Boston, and started her own business. And when she feels a spark with a gorgeous neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid, everything in Lily’s life seems too good to be true.

This book is dumb
Revisado: 02-25-25
Poorly written. There is so much flip flopping in this book; I’ll never forgive him, I can’t ever go back. Then five chapters later; I don’t know if I want divorce. Lots of “hot sex” which is maybe why people like it..? It’s worse than a Korean soap opera, IMO. Heart wrenching? Maybe in how unlike real relationships/love actually exists. The dialogue was so unrealistic as well. And the ages of the main characters..? Uh, yeah, a 24 year old is able to seamlessly and successfully create a super successful flower shop..? So dumb, not even an echo of life to actually relate to. The voice actor did a good job reading it.

If your are looking for a book that will do NOTHING for your success and quickly lead you to burn out, this is the book for you!
Revisado: 06-27-23
Just SO bad. The author LITERALLY REPEATS himself over and over and over. I was convinced there must be more to this book, but I’m two hours in and every sentence makes me more dismayed that I wasted my money on this drivel. It’s unhelpful, preachy, incredibly repetitive, and obvious! Chasing/approaching success as an ethical duty and obligation; it’s as important as loving your child. You have to have goals 10Xs what you “think you would be happy with” and then put in 10Xs the effort you think it will required. He repeats this idea over and over and over and over. It’s borderline unbelievable this book was published and totally unbelievable that ANYONE could have found anything useful in this book. It’s utterly garbage. He lectures with a patronizing voice and uses shame inducing language. It’s just SO BAD. I really can’t say it enough- it’s USELESS!!!!!!!! And his accent, the way he pronounces important as impartant, and prefaces every other sentence with, “Look,” OMG Odious

Historia
Ben Keenan is one of Australia’s leading brand strategists, creative directors and copywriters. He also happens to have got his start in advertising by completing my copywriting short course over 15 years ago! Which just goes to show what can happen if you hang in there and persist! He called it ‘the gateway drug’ to a life in advertising. That’s one way of looking at it! He is the former head of Award School Melbourne, the former Interactive Creative Director of Clemenger Advertising, the Digital Creative Director at M&C Saatchi, and now runs his own private freelance consultancy. If you feel like success is for others, that only certain people get to have their dreams fulfilled, Eric Thomas’s You Owe You is your wake-up call. His urgent message to stop waiting for inspiration to strike and take control of your life is one he wishes someone had given him when he was a teenager—lost, homeless, failing in school, and dealing with the challenges of being a young Black man in America.

Racist!!!!
Revisado: 12-22-22
He couldn’t like a white girl..? He told his dad he liked a white girl and his dad gave him a copy of Malcom X…he’s glad his dad did this- He talks about “helping diverse populations “ this is all about black community/communities. Loving yourself means picking a partner that is the same race as you!!!??? WHAT? Um...no thank you. Not a helpful book AT ALL. All about him and his super power- no applicable information at all. Don’t waste your time. Don't waste you money!!!!! Embrace challenges, failures, and successes..this is common knowledge. This book was a self congratulatory rant- and all over the place. Basically find your purpose and laser focus on it- oh and ask for help. uh..duh. Really, the more I listened to it, the worse it got. How and why this got any positive reviews at all, I have no clue.
There you go- that was the entire book, or at least the content that wasn’t specifically about this guy and his life/accomplishments. I just saved you an audible credit or some cash- you’re welcome!

Historia
There is a human genetic fluke that is surprisingly common, due to a change in a key pair of chromosomes. In the normal condition the two look the same, but in this disorder one is malformed and shrunken beyond recognition. The result is a shortened life span, higher mortality at all ages, an inability to reproduce, premature hair loss, and brain defects variously resulting in attention deficit, hyperactivity, conduct disorder, hypersexuality, and an enormous excess of both outward and self-directed aggression. It is called maleness.

I have listened to this book a couple times now and probably will again. Not that I gleaned so much more the semiconductors time around because of the copious amounts of information, more so to just to reset my thinking/remind myself of the elements and tools of the book. There were a lot of moments that clicked. It’s a great mindset book. I really do feel more empowered after having listened to it.

In this audiobook, you'll get an inside look at how a man thinks and interacts with a woman when he's not that interested in her. It's extremely difficult for a man to waste your time and treat you like a short-term plaything without exhibiting certain unmistakable behaviors that clearly communicate that he's trying to keep you interested...but unclaimed.

A LOT of really Obvious stuff
Revisado: 07-10-21
If a guy tells you he doesn’t want a relationship anything long term with you, he just not that interested. An example of the degree of obviousness most of his point posses. Kind of funny- almost worth the $5 just to chuckle along with the terribly patronizing advice. Some of it is, in my opinion sexist and outdated- the while he’s the captain, you be a good first mate and he might pick you as his special lady..but some of it is empower women. He says several times, if your guy is doing this or that (obvious misdeed) leave him, your worth more then that! So- eh, kind of a wash- Gabe it two stars because outside of work on yourself to be deserving of a great guy and leave him if he’s a dud- there is no applicable advice..so.. 2 stars

Didn’t get 20 minutes into the audiobook
Revisado: 12-13-20
Another story about how a woman believes she’s “missing out” because, gasp, she’s almost 40 and isn’t married or in a relationship! So sick of these kinds of books perpetuating the “ideal” life of a woman. How about starting a book with a heroine who is satisfied with herself and isn’t looking to find her happily ever after at the end of an aisle. I thought this book would be fun mindless listening to put me in the holiday spirit- but the book literally starts out with the heroine “jealous” of the people getting married and scared she won’t find a meaningful relationship to “complete” her life- it just put me in a bad mood as this rant proves. If you have half a brain and care about the message being constantly streamed about societal norms- skip this book, it may ruin your mood
