Historia
Nisha Cantor lives the globetrotting life of the seriously wealthy, until her husband announces a divorce and cuts her off. Nisha is determined to hang onto her glamorous life. But in the meantime, she must scramble to cope--she doesn’t even have the shoes she was, until a moment ago, standing in. That’s because Sam Kemp—in the bleakest point of her life—has accidentally taken Nisha’s gym bag. But Sam hardly has time to worry about a lost gym bag—she’s struggling to keep herself and her family afloat.

Loved everything about it!
Revisado: 03-10-23
Just finished Someone Else's Shoes and I absolutely loved it! There were a couple of times that I started to feel it was bogging down a bit and poor Nisha would be forever shallow and bitter, while Sam was forever destined to be a doormat, but then there would be something humorous to lighten the drama and I was again hoping for a happily ever after outcome for both. The character development was so good, I went from completely dispising Nisha, feeling she was getting a good dose of comeuppance to rooting for her victory. Jasmine is by far a best supporting character.

Historia
Vermont, 1950. There's a place for the girls whom no one wants - the troublemakers, the illegitimate, the too smart for their own good. It's called Idlewild Hall. And in the small town where it's located, there are rumors that the boarding school is haunted. Four roommates bond over their whispered fears, their budding friendship blossoming - until one of them mysteriously disappears.... Vermont, 2014. As much as she's tried, journalist Fiona Sheridan cannot stop revisiting the events surrounding her older sister's death.

predictable ghost story
Revisado: 03-04-23
I struggled to finish this book. I disliked the current day main characters. I also did not like the narration in that it was too monotone and lacking in emotion, although perhaps as the 2 current day main characters seemed terribly shallow individuals, maybe it was spot on.

Adorable characters in comedic situations
Revisado: 10-29-22
Who doesn't love a southern belle? Especially one who finds her independence as life throws her curve balls. With the help of lifelong friends, and some new ones made along the way, she learns to take charge and stand on her own two feet. Between the characters met and situations she gets into, I laughed out loud several times. The book had a satisfying ending while still leaving options for more shenanigans ahead.

Historia
Not only do Southerners talk slowly, but sometimes the whole language is hard to understand. No one realizes that more than Memphis belle Leelee Satterfield. Watching her tackle life and love in Vermont was only the tip of the iceberg when it came to antics, charades, mischief, and romance. Now that she’s back in Memphis, and starting a new relationship with Peter, the Yankee chef from her New England inn, you’d think she’d sit back and enjoy her newly crafted life back home in Dixie. But that just wouldn’t be as much fun.

Should have stopped after the 2nd book
Revisado: 10-29-22
I loved the first book in this series. it was laugh out loud funny and the characters were endearing. The second book was not as funny or good but still cute. You definitely do not have to read the first two books to keep up because there is so much repetitive explanation in this book, it could have been cut by a third had the author left them out. The main character seemed to regress in her independence during this book. Between the retelling of the stories in the first two books and the simpering, whining, helpless belle of the main character by the tenth chapter I almost stopped listening. I powered through but there were several times that I considered just turning it off. I simply can not leave a book unfinished though.
The narrator was different this time as well, it was the author I believe. Not to be harsh, but she needs to stick to writing books, not narrating them. I had trouble, even to the point of rwi ding to make sure I hadn't missed what character was speaking, as the hero sometimes had the same "soft r" as one of the other characters, while every character who was not from the south all had the same nasal tones.
The first two books were free, I bought this one. I would have felt better had I paid for them and not even read this book.

Nothing good ever comes from drinking a box of wine alone. So when I decided to entertain my drunken self by setting up some hand-me-down podcasting equipment and reading the steamy parts from romance novels, I never thought anyone would actually listen. The fact that I admitted my huge crush on my sexy next door neighbor made the whole thing even more mortifying. But sometimes life surprises you, and that’s how my podcast, Heidi’s Discount Erotica, was born. Now I, Heidi Larsen, a sweet former kindergarten teacher in Waconia, Minnesota, lead a scandalous double life.

Worthy of LOLs
Revisado: 05-09-22
Loved the goofy antics and mishaps of the heroine. I can completely relate to her awkwardness. I'll always give a book high marks when I actually do laugh out loud and there were several LOL moments in this book.

A woman disappears on her way to work. A man is convicted of her murder. But this case is different. Though the police believe they have the right man, key components of the prosecution case are missing. There is no body of the victim, no witnesses to the crime, no confession and no physical evidence: no DNA, CCTV or murder weapon.

Quite fascinating!

Very in depth research into the case and all of it's facts. I liked the overview of another country's justice system.
