Historia
In Legend, acclaimed best-selling author Eric Blehm takes as his canvas the Vietnam War as seen through a single mission that occurred on May 2, 1968. A 12-man Special Forces team had been covertly inserted into a small clearing in the jungles of neutral Cambodia - where US forces were forbidden to operate. Their objective, just miles over the Vietnam border, was to collect evidence that proved the North Vietnamese Army was using the Cambodian sanctuary as a major conduit for supplying troops and materiel to the south via the Ho Chi Minh Trail.

Many today object to Christianity as a White, male-dominated religion that oppresses women and people of color. More than a White Man’s Religion not only debunks the mischaracterization of Christianity, but also shows how the gospel can inspire positive change desperately needed in our modern culture.

Abdu is great as usual
Revisado: 07-01-23
It is always great to listen to Abdu and this book has been no exception. He provides great insights and has a talent to convey them to the reader. This is a must read in todays world. I have met Abdu twice in my life and he is such a humble giant of a man that makes you feel we have been sitting around the same campfire for always despite our vastly different cultural backgrounds. I certainly recommend any of his books.

Historia
Is Atheism Dead? is an entertaining, impressively wide-ranging, and decidedly provocative answer to that famous 1966 Time cover that itself provocatively asked “Is God Dead?” In a voice that is by turns witty, muscular, and poetic, Metaxas intentionally echoes C. S. Lewis and G. K. Chesterton in cheerfully and logically making his astonishing case, along the way presenting breathtaking - and often withering - new evidence and arguments against the idea of a Creatorless universe.

Historia
Nadia Murad was born and raised in Kocho, a small village of farmers and shepherds in Northern Iraq. A member of the Yazidi community, she and her brothers and sisters lived a quiet life. Nadia had dreams of becoming a history teacher or opening her own beauty salon. On August 15, 2014, when Nadia was just 21 years old, this life ended. Islamic State militants massacred the people of her village, executing men who refused to convert to Islam and women too old to become sex slaves.

A must read about horrors of ISIS
Revisado: 07-02-22
It is amazing how much violence and abuse one young girl endured at the hands of ISIS. Her resilience is awe inspiring. It was also good to see that there were ordinary poor people who were willing to dare and save her.
Sad to see that Canada has canceled some of her talks and that her story were seen as hate speech. What a disgrace that a country would go out of their way to take away her voice after such a struggle to get it in the first place, and that to protect Islam.

In this powerful audiobook, pastor, professor, and leading cultural apologist Voddie Baucham explains the sinister worldview behind the social justice movement and how it has quietly spread like a fault system, not only through our culture, but throughout the evangelical church in America. He also details the devastation it is already wreaking - and what we can do to get back on solid ground before it’s too late.

Why we think it’s a great listen: Seabiscuit was a runaway success, and Hillenbrand’s done it again with another true-life account about beating unbelievable odds. On a May afternoon in 1943, an Army Air Forces bomber crashed into the Pacific Ocean and disappeared, leaving only a spray of debris and a slick of oil, gasoline, and blood. Then, on the ocean surface, a face appeared....

WOW!
Revisado: 03-26-12
Where does Unbroken rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This was the best ever. Well writen. An amazing story, which is so good that one has to remind yourself that this is a true story.
What did you like best about this story?
From the first word to the last.
What does Edward Herrmann bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
He read the story well, but without taking anything from the reader, this book and story is extra ordinary.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It grips you by the throat and pulls you along as if floating helplessly on a sea current.
Any additional comments?
I hope someone is making a movie out of this. If made well it can be bigger than Titanic and Ben Hur.

Historia
From 1999 to 2009, U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle recorded the most career sniper kills in United States military history. The Pentagon has officially confirmed more than 150 of Kyles kills (the previous American record was 109), but it has declined to verify the astonishing total number for this book. Iraqi insurgents feared Kyle so much they named him al-Shaitan ("the devil") and placed a bounty on his head.

Bull's eye!
Revisado: 03-26-12
What did you like best about this story?
The honesty from the writer was sobering. The input from his wife made this real. It made me realize the immense debt society has towards guys like Mr Kyle that are willing to risk everything for the rest of us, whether you are an American or not.
What about John Pruden’s performance did you like?
Good reading. At no point did I get the idea that he was not part of the story.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, but I could not. Trivial things like work and life kept me busy!
Any additional comments?
Chris Kyle wrote a great story. I enjoyed every minute of it and was sad when it was done. He achieved a lot and one forgets that it is because he was in a fight more than everybody else, he was good at what he did, he was well prepared, he had excellent guys around him, he had a goal and a reason why he did all this, and finally he was probably very lucky as well. The stuff he survived was incredible. I sometimes got the idea that he was born to fight.
But these guys do pay a price that the rest of society does not. These guys pay with their lives, friends, and families to allow the rest of society to stand in the presence of a free nation and critisize evrything of their choosing even the very men that protects that freedom. They deserve respect and support in battle and when back at home. I am not an American, but I do think that the American soldier today deserves more from some their own people and the free world in general.

Special attention will be given to the influence of Oprah Winfrey's media platform in reshaping society by introducing and promoting certain books and authors.

Ravi. Excellent as always.
Revisado: 03-26-12
What did you love best about Why Jesus??
The comparison between thoughts as well as the effect media has on people and the effect people have on media. Finally why Jesus always will stand the test of time.
Have you listened to any of Ravi Zacharias’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have listened or read all of Ravi's books. Big fan! This one is up there with all the good ones again.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I try to absorb his arguments and thought. I seldomly become emotional about things; however Ravi does have the ability to bring things close to home, which does evoke emotion as always with his readings. Through the years listening and reading his books I have become a follower of Mr Zacharias' books and arguements. I am glad to say I have become bias.
Any additional comments?
Ravi Zacharias is a gift from God. Everyone on this planet should become a reader of his work. His approach is gentlemanly, but stern and rock solid. His knowledge of the Bible and other religions is incredible. In my eyes I think we are seeing the equivalent of a modern day Paul. Please continue Mr. Zacharias. I am happy to be a Christian and stand alongside men like Mr. Zacharias.
