The concepts and interventions introduced in this book are designed as an adjunct to, and in support of, other methods of treatment rather than as a stand-alone treatment or manualized approach. By drawing on the therapeutic relationship and adjusting interventions to the particular needs of each client, thoughtful attention to what is being spoken beneath the words through the body can heighten the intimacy of the therapist/client journey and help change take place more easily in the hidden recesses of the self.

Historia
Stress is our internal response to an experience that our brain perceives as threatening or challenging. Trauma is our response to an experience in which we feel powerless or lacking agency. Until now, researchers have treated these conditions as different, but they actually lie along a continuum. Dr. Elizabeth Stanley explains the significance of this continuum, how it affects our resilience in the face of challenge, and why an event that's stressful for one person can be traumatizing for another.

Not enough exercises
Revisado: 06-11-20
I think the author is really onto something and I'd like to do mind fit training, but the book doesn't really help that much with actually widening your window because it's mostly just theory. There needs to be more exercises in the book

Another advertisement pretending to be a book
Revisado: 12-22-19
Seems to be a trend now to write a "book" that is actually a promotional for a course you will have to pay for to get the actual techniques the book is superficially about. They call it a book, I call it FRAUD!

Historia
Some call it the zest, the gusto, or the extra edge in life. The ancient Indian spiritual tradition Vedanta calls it prana, or life force. We can call it vital force. In modern life, we have forgotten the golden key - the higher our energy, the better our performance in everything we do. Energy naturally impacts mind-set and moves us toward greater happiness, success, and self-awareness. This book gives you back your power with simple tools to take hold of the limitless energy of life itself - more swiftly and easily than you ever thought possible.

Historia
In this newly revised and expanded edition of The Emotion Code, renowned holistic physician and lecturer Dr. Bradley Nelson skillfully lays bare the inner workings of the subconscious mind. He reveals how emotionally charged events from your past can still be haunting you in the form of "trapped emotions"—emotional energies that literally inhabit your body. These trapped emotions can fester in your life and body, creating pain, malfunction, and eventual disease.

Too much advertising, not enough evidence
Revisado: 12-05-19
I think there is probably something to his practice, but regardless, there are way too many testimonials that say pretty much the same. And even if all of these people did get lasting, positive changes in their lives (how about something akin to a controlled trial from Dr. Nelson so we can see that these are actual testimonials and that it's not all placebo/ psychosomatic?), there are too many of them saying the same thing. This book is more of an advertisement for his training than a book. I felt at times like he should be paying me to read it. The real info the reader needs could be fit in a couple chapters at most and the book could be sold for a quarter of the cost.

Historia
This book provides comprehensive information that will help you eradicate stress. Many other books take a very clichéd and lightweight approach to this topic and are often written by people with absolutely no experience in counseling. The result of such books is you are often more stressed than when you started listening, as they provide no value or practical benefits for those whose lives are crippled by stress.

Its not about breathing
Revisado: 09-20-17
First, why is "BREATHE" written in big letters on the front? This book is not about breathing at all. Second, I didn't find this book to be intellectually stimulating or very insightful when it comes to dealing with stress and anxiety. It's shallow and simple
