an intimate conversation
Revisado: 04-20-24
This was best Maxwell book I've listened to, largely because of the presentation. You not only get to hear Maxwell read his book, but he adds to each chapter and provides personal reflection on his own words that you can't duplicate in written form. This is a must buy.

Last two books have bugs
Revisado: 07-22-22
The stories and audio are what you'd expect. Once you get into the G. K. Chesterton books, it will keep jumping to Little Women. the time in the books keeps playing as though you're listening to Father Brown of Wizzard of Oz, but the audio is Little Women. It is quite frustrating and I almost didn't finish them.
Note: pausing and unpacking fixes it eventually, but not permanently.

Rich Dad’s Guide to Investing is a long-term guide for anyone who wants to become a rich investor and invest in what the rich invest in. As the title states, it is a "guide" and offers no guarantees... only guidance.” (Robert Kiyosaki)

Needed to read Cash Flow Quadrant first
Revisado: 01-20-21
I'm learning about property investment and do not have a business background. while this book explains things at the simplest level, it still felt overwhelming. Several times it mentions/assumes readers have read Rich Dad Poor Dad and Cash Flow Quadrant. I have not read the latter and they may be part of my struggle.
The book did contain some good procedural checklists that make it worth buying in paper as well as audio.
I'm going to read Cash Flow Quadrant next and update my review.

The “scum and villainy” a highlight
- De Stefan Filipovits en 11-10-20
The first was better.
Revisado: 12-15-20
While there were several good short stories, many were too far removed from what was happening from the points of view we've all watched and read.
Also there were a lot of relationship moments that were out of place. It is hard to make me care about a relationship in a short story that is supposed to provide a different perspective. When most of the unneccessary relationships are between same sex couples, it feels like an agenda. Aside from Han and Leia, I haven't found a relationship in Star Wars I care about except maybe Jynn and Cassian, which didn't really have time to start. If it is not essential to the plot, leave it out.
The book is still worth it for the wampa, Wedge, Dengar/IG stories...though two were far removed from Episode V.

Historia
At once profoundly personal and far-reaching, Exit Interview with My Grandmother serves as a meditation on the beginning of a young woman’s life and the series of questions that arise from examining love, loss, family, memory, and death. Moving between cities and centuries, Meyersohn probes her family's Jewish history and her grandparents' relationships in part to decipher her own young queer relationships, but also to examine how we ought to behave in the face of a world riddled with uncertainty and doubt.

A Lot of Potential, but a Let Down in the End
Revisado: 10-26-20
I really enjoyed the interviews between her and her grandmother, but aside from that I felt the book failed to deliver. The author is very talented and I imagine this book will appeal to many. It's just not for me.

Historia
In 10 lectures, award-winning historian Patrick N. Allitt transports listeners to England in the 1840s and 1850s. During those two decades, Queen Victoria's husband, Prince Albert, became one of the most influential people in the country and remains a figure of fascination even today. In fact, the British royal family as we know it wouldn't exist without the private and public actions of this detached, impartial, and upright political figure.

Another Hidden Original Gem
Revisado: 10-26-20
Aside from a bad phone prank as a kid, I didnt know anything about Prince Albert. His life is another example of when the right person is selected at the right time to fill a key role in the changing of a nation. I was also impressed at the relationship between him and his family. It was not what I expected from the aristocracy.

Historia
John Boyd may be the most remarkable unsung hero in all of American military history. Some remember him as the greatest US fighter pilot ever - the man who, in simulated air-to-air combat, defeated every challenger in less than 40 seconds. Some recall him as the father of our country's most legendary fighter aircraft - the F-15 and F-16. Still, others think of Boyd as the most influential military theorist since Sun Tzu. They know only half the story.

More than the OODA Loop
Revisado: 06-26-20
This was a great book that goes beyond the OODA Loop. written for non military audiences, Boyd takes you through the personal life of a selfless warrior who stayed the course through a lifetime of fighting big military. His ideas can be applied to all conflicts, not just military engagements and his example of standing up for what's right should be emulated by more. This is a well written book on the most controversial Airman to serve.
