Historia
Werewolves are hunting me. I was just an ordinary girl waiting tables in a small-town bar. I had no idea magic was real. That was, until I backed my car over a werewolf a couple of times. In my defense, the wolf was trying to murder me, and I was all out of mace.

Gripping Story
Revisado: 04-24-25
I enjoyed the story itself. The language was a bit excessive to my taste. Some fit, but a lot of it felt like fillers. The story moved at a good pace and the foreshadowing rolled well into the final battle(s).
The male narrator didn't fit well. It felt like he was reading a case file from dragnet. The was no diversity among the supporting characters' voices. I had a hard time with some scenes because it was hard to tell the differences between which characters were speaking.
Otherwise, it was a fun "read".

Historia
I can turn into a housecat. It’s a fun magic, except in a world filled with vampires and werewolves, it doesn’t exactly make me a powerhouse. Instead, the supernatural community has classified me as an outcast, which means one thing: picking on me is open season all day, every day. The local fae are the worst of all, and it’s during one of their regular “capture the cat-girl” sessions that I shift into my cat form and meet HIM for the first time.

Love the story, narrators are so-so
Revisado: 02-15-25
I love the story, but the narrators don't match what I thought would match the characters better. Chloe's actress was too strong out the door. Noctus' actor was too English pompous. The secondary characters for both actors are a little hard to differentiate at times, especially for Noctus' POV. Despite these challenges, the performance was good enough to not deter me from listening to the rest of the series.

I never imagined Considine Maledictus—one of the most powerful vampires alive—would go from ruling the streets at night to joining the supernatural task force just to become my partner, but here we are. Considine claims he “fancies” me. He also used to hide his identity and pose as my charming next-door neighbor, so forgive me if I don’t believe him. As bad as that is, my work life is worse.

I loved Considine’s droll yet bored voice.

Best Narrators
Revisado: 10-22-24
The narration is some of the best I've heard. The story is fantastic if you can overlook a few inconsistencies. Highly recommend.
