A moving story of the south in the 60's from the viewpoint of "The Help", black maids who serve in the homes of the middle and upper class whites in Jackson, Mississippi.This was an emotional story for one such as myself who grew up in Virginia and had a "colored" maid serving in our home.The readers are excellent.This is a book not to be missed .

Wow! Terrific story and the reader is wonderful. Being in NO after Katrina the images were vivid and often I recalled my own visions of the 9th ward. Story line holds attention and one finds oneself concerned for characters and their ultimate end.

Wow... I had my doubts. The length was almost a put off BUT what a terrific listen! The story captures many crisis that my 65 years remembers. The reader maintains the intrigue and does a marvelous job with many voices and languages. This is a spy novel that rivals LaCurre.
