Only one problem...
Revisado: 07-09-18
... I listened to this after listening to Kevin Foley reading the sequel, Piercing the Darkness. They need to do a rerecording with him reading this book. I'm not saying the book is bad, because I enjoyed reading the book and was looking for a audio version, but listening to this reader doesn't add to the experience.
Mr. Sondericker does an okay job and that disappoints me because I have heard him reading some of the Left Behind books and he does a much better job. I actually wanted to give him a 21/2, but 1/2 stars is not an option.
I hope Books in Motion will record this with Mr. Foley and reissue to Audible. That would be a keeper.

Historia
It started with a plague wiping through Earth. Then came the aliens, hostile ones trying to take advantage of the current state of human weakness. And then came the saviors. All they wanted in exchange of eradicating the plague and protecting Earth from the sadistic aliens was breeding stock. Male breeding stock. Muscular, good looking, healthy males that were compatible with their own humanoid form. These are their stories.

Tried to get into it.
Revisado: 06-13-18
I really tried to get into this because I love and write mpregs. I read another story years ago about a race where all the women died and the aliens came to earth, changed the men into bearers and took them as mates. That story was excellent so I was excited to find another one written with the same concept.
This story was okay, but I didn't enjoy as much as I thought; however, kudos to the reader because he gave it his all.
Il really can't say purchase it; on the other hand, if you have kindle unlimited and it's offered as part of the plan, give it a read.

Historia
A classic of the horror genre, Dennis Wheatley’s The Devil Rides Out pits the powers of good against the forces of evil as the Duc de Richelieu wrestles for the soul of his friend with the charming but deadly Satanist, Mocata. Mocata has the power to summon the forces of darkness and - as the Duc and his friends will find - is willing to call upon ever-increasing horror until thundering hooves herald the arrival of the Devil Himself.

A Great Listen
Revisado: 07-23-17
Would you listen to The Devil Rides Out again? Why?
Yes. I enjoy the atmosphere of the book and the slow build of suspense. In fact, I've listened to it several times. The first time I heard it was years ago as a public library check out. I was happy to find it at audible.
Have you listened to any of Nick Mercer’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No I haven't.
If you could rename The Devil Rides Out, what would you call it?
The Horror Within.
Any additional comments?
This is a book that can be revisit multiple times and not lose its appeal. Bravo

Historia
When New York City unveils a program to roast supernaturals, I wonder if I should be sweating. The bloodthirsty Arnaud thinks so, and he's insisting that our survival depends on a wizard-vampire alliance. Never mind his history of wanting me dead. Or undead. Meanwhile, the mayor wants me on his team - an offer that's only slightly less unnerving given our recent clash. So who's really behind the purge? City Hall? The werewolves? Or is it the brainchild of the fae, whose newest advisor to the mayor slipped from my bed and life four months ago?

Get a clue.
Revisado: 07-22-17
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
Maybe. It's an okay listening experience. But it's one of those books I'd borrow from the library so I could take it back. (This is a reaction review for all the books in the series, not just book 3. I need to make this clear.)
What was most disappointing about Brad Magnarella’s story?
The main character, Everson Croft. I listened to all the books and I kept waiting for him to get a clue. To be on the streets, he has no street smarts. Why the character hasn't been killed, except for the whim of the writer, is a mystery beyond me. He lets his guard down too much and he makes worst decisions than a two year old. (I wish I could give specifics, but I don't want to spoil this for others.)
Which scene was your favorite?
When Garcia, the woman detective , helps Croft escape from the cops attempting to take revenge on him for a failed mission.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
Not if the character is a naive as written in the books.
Any additional comments?
I have been returning a lot of the recording because I get them, download them, then wish I hadn't . I really want to return this series but I don't want Audible to become suspicious that I am abusing their return policy. Even as I think about the character and the convenient plot devises, I become angry.
