Historia
It’s 1984, and life has changed beyond recognition. Airstrip One, formerly known as Great Britain, is a place where Big Brother is always watching, and nobody can hide. Except, perhaps, for Winston Smith. Whilst working at the Ministry of Truth, rewriting history, he secretly dreams of freedom. And in a world where love and sex are forbidden, where it’s hard to distinguish between friend and foe, he meets Julia and O’Brien and vows to rebel.

An Engaging Adaptation and Fantastic Performances!
Revisado: 04-11-24
I have tried a few times to read this Orwell novel, but I could never stick with it from beginning to end. But since I love audio dramas, I decided to give this one a try.
I wasn’t disappointed for a second. Every actor, especially the three main characters, did a fantastic job. The orchestral music really enhanced the emotions in each scene, and the sound effects took me into the story and never let go. If you love radio-theater style versions of classic novels, I really can’t recommend this one highly enough. I never expected to enjoy this production, but the acting and sound design alone have already made this a favorite in my book!

Annie has enchanted millions of fans from her original comic strip appearance to the hit Broadway musical. Wonderful for Fans of the Musical Annie!
Revisado: 01-31-23
This is a great novel for anyone who has seen the Broadway musical Annie. Movie-version fans will love this book too, but this novelization is most faithful to the musical, so you won’t find any climactic bridge chase here. This book ends a bit more quietly, but the finale—and the book in general—is still quite uplifting and satisfying. Annie potts, voice of Bo Peep in the Toy Story movies, makes a wonderful narrator. In short, children and kids at heart will love this trip down memory lane.

Historia
Nintendo has continually set the standard for video game innovation in America, starting in 1981 with a plucky hero who jumped over barrels to save a girl from an ape. The saga of Mario, the portly plumber who became the most successful franchise in the history of gaming, has plot twists worthy of a video game. Jeff Ryan shares the story of how this quintessentially Japanese company found success in the American market.

Unexpectedly interesting
Revisado: 01-18-18
Many of the history books I’ve read have been rather boring, and I’ve had to struggle to finish reading them. Super Mario, on the other hand, was hardly boring at all. The author is a big Nintendo fan himself, so he put a lot of research into this book, and I could tell he really enjoyed writing it. Most of the material in each chapter deals with the history of the Nintendo company, including general descriptions of the major consoles and games they’ve created. The author lightens things up by telling an interesting story at the beginning of many of the book’s chapters. These stories cover Nintendo’s merchandising, an unfinished Mario opera, and the hundreds of ways artists have used Mario’s images in their own work. These stories added a lot of fun moments to this book.
The narrator has a clear and expressive voice, which added energy to the overall listening experience.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who grew up loving Mario or Nintendo, like I did. This book is an engaging way to learn about the history of the company through 2010, and quite a bit of interesting trivia is thrown in as well.

Historia
When the human commits genocide, Alphys does nothing but hide. Nothing but retreat. Nothing but run. But when worst comes to worst, and the entire force of evil and death itself comes crashing down, one little monster has to do everything she can to become the hero she'd only dreamed of being. But for each monster slain, another must rise.

My favorite audio Undertale book so far
Revisado: 05-20-17
First of all, the summary for this book is somewhat misleading. The first chapter involves Alphys and the human, but this story also features W.D. Gaster's return. I'll leave it at that.
The story is very good, although there are a few imperfections and some differences from the genocide run of Undertale within the first couple paragraphs of this story. The narrator does a great job, although this recording includes a couple small mistakes in his reading and repeated sentences that weren't editted out.
Overall, I highly recommend this story. There are some dark themes and strong language, so it would be best if listeners were over 18 years old.

Wonderful retelling
Revisado: 04-20-17
I've heard a few audio versions of this story, but this is by far my favorite. All the voice acting is great, and the atmospheric jungle sounds make you feel like you're living in the story. This is a great listen. Thanks, Audible!
