The story is good, but the "narration" is mechanical and disappointing.

Excellent books by an excellent author

I have listened to the Chronicles of Prydain several years ago. I enjoyed them just as much the second time through. The Book of Three sets the stage and introduces the main characters. The Black Cauldron is a Newbery Honor Book. The last book in the series is a Newbery Medal winner. I recommend the whole series.

Too many foolish lapses in judgement

The book was interesting, but I grew tired of the multitude of repeated mistakes and lapses in judgement. In the previous books the characters have made some mistakes, but not this many. On the plus side, new friendships and alliances were formed, and new levels of trust were reached.
