Historia
Tip the Empire State Building onto its side and you’ll have a sense of the length of the United States Navy’s newest aircraft carrier, the most powerful in the world: the USS John F. Kennedy. Weighing 100,000 tons, Kennedy features the most futuristic technology ever put to sea, making it the most agile and lethal global weapon of war.

What I learned ( instead of how a carrier is built)
Revisado: 02-01-23
Trump is bad. COVID is bad and the science was 110% on point, if only we had listened. Joe Biden is ok because he’s a catholic President like Kennedy. Caroline is an angel from heaven. JFK (which I already knew lots about) turns out to be somewhere after the Father and maybe the son but definitely in front of Holy Ghost. Wish I knew more about building a carrier.

Historia
On December 16, 1944, the vanguard of three German armies, totaling half a million men, attacked US forces in the Ardennes region of Belgium and Luxembourg, achieving what had been considered impossible - total surprise. In the most abysmal failure of battlefield intelligence in the history of the US Army, 600,000 American soldiers found themselves facing Hitler's last desperate effort of the war. The brutal confrontation that ensued became known as the Battle of the Bulge, the greatest battle ever fought by the US Army - a triumph of American ingenuity and dedication.

This is unlistenable without staring at a map
Revisado: 09-15-21
The performance is great but this text can’t apply to an audiobook.
Too many unit numbers and place names that I have to stop and find on a map which defeats the purpose of an audiobook.
I’m going to try and return it. Unlistenable as an audiobook

Historia
When planes crash, bridges collapse, and automobile gas tanks explode, we are quick to blame poor design. But Henry Petroski says we must look beyond design for causes and corrections. Known for his masterly explanations of engineering successes and failures, Petroski here takes his analysis a step further, to consider the larger context in which accidents occur. In To Forgive Design he surveys some of the most infamous failures of our time.

The cadence of the reading, the rhythm, is tough to listen to on a sustained basis This May be a good book. Can’t get through it
