Grandma‘s Match for Garrett is a quick listen to book that you will enjoy. The narrator is very good. Garrett‘s grandmother needs help on her farm. Of all his siblings, his dad decides to send Garrett from Tennessee to the Indian territory to help her out. Of course, there’s plenty of work to be done, and his grandmother is happy that he has arrived. There’s a hint that she wants to be a matchmaker while he is there. He tells her he will make his own choice. She does get him introduced to her friend, Wren to get him started. He likes Wren, but hates how people treat her, since she is half Indian. Interesting topic and journey, Cora’s Story was to listen to. Cora accepts her life on the mountain. This is all she knew, even though she was sent away to school and was bullied and attacked. All she wanted was to go home to the mountain and be safe. She finally has a husband and life goes on. Even life has its tough moments, but Cora is happy with her life and family.

Working Together
Revisado: 02-05-25
I listened to the audiobook of Willa’s Woes and enjoyed the narrator. Willa is not having any good luck. It started with the loss of her parents, her brother and now her home. What can she do now. She meets a matchmaker and it’s a solution to her troubles. She’s off to the Dakota territory to be a bride. It’s strange to marry a man, Warren that she didn’t even know, but she will do everything to make it work. Of course, it’s not without issues, but with the two working together, it just might work.

Brooke Bennett had the best news ever. After years of trying, she and David were going to have a baby. She knew her husband would be just as thrilled as she was and she prepared him a special celebratory supper, dressed up, and waited for him. However, he never came home. Later that night, she clutched a note she found on her pillow into a crumpled mess not believing what he’d written. David was leaving her and the megachurch where he’d been the senior pastor. They'd hit some snags in their marriage, but something like this had never crossed her mind.

Revisado: 01-13-25
Listening to the audiobook of In Due Season was a pleasure. Having the author as narrator was wonderful. The story, set in Williamsburg, Virginia was excellent. I’ve been there many times and was able to see some of the places mentioned in the story. John escaped from a work house in London, but soon finds himself in America, and again an indentured servant. Elizabeth is traveling to America on a ship with her parents to start a new life in America, but unfortunately, both die on the way over. Whatever will she do now. She arrives at a boot maker shop in Williamsburg, Virginia to try to sell her father‘s tools. Here she meets John. We are showing the difference between the wealthy and the poor, but God will keep them focused on what is good. I was given a copy of the book by the author for an honest review.
