Historia
Frannie and Larry Shoemaker love taking their grandchildren, Sabet and Joe, camping with them. But at Bluffs State Park, Frannie finds herself worrying more than usual about their safety, and when another young girl disappears from the campground in broad daylight, her fears increase. The fun of a bike ride, a flea market, marshmallow guns, and a storyteller are quickly overshadowed. Accusations against Larry and her add to the cloud over their heads. Frannie begins to puzzle out the mystery.

Great Cozy Mystery
Revisado: 04-03-18
This is the first book in the series that I have read, but I have already purchased book 3. I was kept guessing until the end as to who the culprit was in the story. I almost want to buy a camper after reading this!
Frannie and Larry Shoemaker are camping with their grandchildren, friends, and family when a little girl disappears. Larry is a suspect. Worried about her own grandchildren Frannie decides to investigate with the help of their camping friends. The story takes you down a winding road with more disappearances and a large suspect list. I loved every bit of the story.
The story line moves along well and the narrator really does a nice job.

Historia
As the world's biggest powers compete for superiority, it's not larger weapons or greater numbers of soldiers that top their wish lists. Instead, it's the latest and greatest technological advances: nanotechnology, dynamic programming algorithms, and drones, working together to build the next generation of military communications. When a professor at a Texas university begins researching ways to improve animal husbandry and boost global food supplies, her results catch the eye of inquisitive engineer Keith Austin Avery, whose interests have nothing to do with solving world hunger. But as Avery works on potential new uses for this technology, his research draws the attention of a powerful terrorist group, with traumatic results for him and his subcontractor Eilla-Zan Marshall.

Another Great Read from Breakfield and Burkey!
Revisado: 04-03-18
Every time I read a new book in this series I think it the best yet. I just love the way the authors walk you through the technology explanations and the narrator has such a wide vocal range. The story involves a multi-national cast and it helps that the narrator has great vocal talent.
This book was really hard to put down. The story is riveting. Jacob and Petra are once again in the story, and many characters from previous stories have been given bigger parts. The team is put under a time line pressure that keeps you on the edge of your seat until the end.
I really hope this is made into a movie at some point. I think it would do well on a theater screen.
I received this as a gifted audiobook, but the review is honest and my own opinion.

This was Amazing!
Revisado: 03-05-18
Wow! This story was on the dark side, but was so well written and performed. The story was hard to put down, very engaging! I was not familiar with Melinda Clayton prior to this book, but intend to research other writings by her.
Tabby (the mother) has twin boys. When the boys are young, one of them is stolen. This story takes place in their adulthood and, in my mind, raises nature vs nurture questions. The story is told from several different perspectives and allows you to see the story through different eyes.
I really enjoyed this book.

Delightful Cozy Mystery
Revisado: 03-05-18
I found this book delightful. It was a light and easy read. Sabrina - the main character - is determined to solve the murder of her friend and does a very thorough job. As you read through you discover the backstory that fuels her determination to not let a killer escape. This would be a good cozy read for a rainy or snowy day.

Murder, Mystery and Intrigue
Revisado: 11-27-17
The main characters in this book are three witches. Natalie - the High Priestess, and one of the three witches - has a problem. She continues to see the spirits of people after they have passed away. She finds this annoying particularly as the most persistent spirit is William, her lost love. Along with dealing with this annoying issue, a body is found with ties to old murders. The three witches are kept busy investigating the murder and casting a spell to sever Natalie's tie to passed spirits.
This cozy mystery was easy to listen to and delightful. It has s few twists so you are kept guessing. The characters are likeable and the narrator does a great job with the different voices.

Another Great Story in the Enigma Series!
Revisado: 11-14-17
This book had several different stories to follow. Each separate story would have been exciting on its own, but the way they are woven together is quite ingenious and becomes a story well told. The story line involves cyber activity, smuggling, drug lords and quite a few action packed sequences among many other things.
The narrator does a great job with the character nuances through different accents and inflections. There are quite a few challenges for the narrator with different parts of the world involved, but Derek Shoales is believable in the many characters.
I would love to see this series made into a movie. Charles Breakfield and Roxanne Burkey really do a great job with believable technology dialog as well as exciting scenes that draw you on to the next chapter. The characters are so real, that you want to meet them in real life.

If you could sum up The Guilty in three words, what would they be?
Corruption. Mystery. Sex.

The story-line was great. It really was compelling and kept me guessing until the end as to who was the culprit. The story had solid reasoning and was very enthralling. It was hard to put down.
Which character – as performed by Andrew B. Wehrlen – was your favorite?
I really enjoyed Blood. He is an action character and street wise. He was tough but yet likeable.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

What starts out as a joke turns into a disaster when overnight, Gnarly becomes the frontrunner, and his political opponents proceed to dig into the canine's past. Lauren Carr Does It Again!
Revisado: 09-11-17
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I really enjoy the Mac Faraday series. This is the third book I have listened to in the series and I always feel like the one I have just finished is the best yet, even when I am revisiting a story. The characters are so easy to get attached to and so interesting.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Candidate for Murder?
Gnarly was my favorite character in this book and each time he was front and center it made for great listening. Gnarly did several saves in the book and each time was a memorable moment.
What does C.J. McAllister bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
C.J. McAllister has a great voice for the characters in the book. When he is doing David's voice I can picture David, likewise Mac and all the other characters. His voice is well suited for this story.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I was moved in the scene where Gnarly saves Murphy. Gnarly is just such a goofy yet incredibly brave, intelligent dog.

Revisado: 09-05-17
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I really like the Mac Faraday mysteries. The characters are richly developed and the story is always great to listen to. This is my second Mac Faraday audiobook and I hope to listen to all of them. I am hooked.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I loved Carmine. He was so sweet and so engaging. He made me laugh several times. Even though he is not a hugely involved character, I really enjoyed the times he appeared in the story.
Which scene was your favorite?
When Carmine goes into the police department to confess to the murder I laughed so hard. The scene was so well written and I had to listen to it a couple of times. Lauren Carr writes so wonderfully and I loved the voice C. J. McAllister chose for this character.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Thriller with a Romance
Revisado: 08-29-17
What did you love best about Painting with Fire?
I loved the fact that I was kept guessing until the end. Every time I thought I had it figured out, Claudia would have an internal monologue the brought up extra questions and had me guessing all the way to the end.
What other book might you compare Painting with Fire to and why?
No other book comes to mind when I think of this book, however, I did think the story was well written and easy to follow. Also, I liked that the loose ends all get tied up. It drives me a little crazy when an author leaves a loose end.
What does Cindy Piller bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Cindy Piller has a voice that seems to perfectly suit the character of Claudia. She is able to portray emotions with different voice modulations and makes it able to distinguish which character is talking by different voices.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I loved the romance part. It was very well done. Not overboard, yet progressing at a believable pace.
