Historia
Will Slater is on the hunt. Three months ago he found a list belonging to drug-slinging gangster Dwayne Griggs. A collection of blackmail, pictures of unspeakable horrors. He’s not going to stop until the men in the photos are dead and buried. He’s already mown through five of them. The sixth poses a problem. Kian Grant, an ex-televangelist preacher with murky ties to the Boston underworld, knows something’s coming. Before Slater can even approach his suburban mansion, Grant is gone, fleeing south over the border to the mountain town of Durango. Slater knows what that means.

Excellent action scenes
Revisado: 05-10-24
The writer is marvelous at scene setting and establishing antagonists that while relatable are highly unlikeable which makes their chase and elimination that much sweeter. Protagonists get whacked hard as well but they find creative ways to overcome the hurdles put before them. Fast and fun reads that only bog down occasionally while the protagonists whine and windge about things that just end up as filler. Cannot recommend reading this series enough. You will not be disappointed.

Rigel is a thousand lightyears farther from the Core Worlds than Earth, so they suffer the first attacks. The mood at Central is jubilant. Our greatest rival is falling—now is the time to strike while they’re weak! Legion Varus is deployed to Jungle World, a vital planet deep in Rigellian territory. Our foes, fighting on two fronts, are driven back with ease. But one man questions the wisdom of this move. Should Earth expand with greed, aiding new monsters from the Galactic Rim? That lone voice of reason comes from James McGill.

Revisado: 08-28-23
Another phenomenal story in the annals of James McGill. Just when you think this series is winding down the author surprises his readers with a whole new plot direction and more nefarious enemies both organic and inorganic. With one of the best narrators in the business i never get tired of these excellent stories.

Revisado: 06-13-23
Another superb book in the King and Slater series by Matt Rogers. The narration is simply awesome by Kevin Kenerly as he keeps you riveted to the exciting story. Rogers continues to get better with each successive book in this series. You have to have compelling antagonists or scum if you prefer and Rodgers delivers in spades. His primary characters continue to grow and develop which makes this a fun and exciting read. The story here is compelling and is not your standard action trope. Surprises abound as always in this series. Pick up and enjoy.

Another Orphan X masterpiece
Revisado: 05-26-23
Sorry to all those not digging this book. I thought it was another excellent chapter in the ongoing saga of Orphan X. Of course, having Candy and Joey back and kicking butt as usual makes the story all the better. Hurwitz is marvelous at creating antagonists that you just want to smash in their chops. But, Evan and Candy are obviously better suited for that. Pixk it up and enjoy.

Weakest story of Jack Carr’s first five Books
Revisado: 06-10-22
While not a terrible read, it was not anywhere near as compelling as Carr’s first four books. You basically knew what the outcome would be from the start of the book. Essentially, this is a series of action vignettes woven together to form an overarching story. Basically following the concept of lather, rinse and repeat. Some of the situations the main character gets out of are so preposterous that he essentially becomes your basic “Superman”. There is no tension regardless of the buildup as you know what the outcome is going to be. The most interesting aspect of the book was the epilogue which sets up the crisis for the book in this series. Hopefully, the author will put more into developing both the character and story to make it a more compelling read. Every author is going to have a stinker and sadly this was Carr’s first.

Another incredible Reacher story that will keep you either reading more or on the edge of your seat. Plenty of twists and turns as per usual Reacher adventure. Starts slow but when the action heats up it doesn’t let up. Excellent scum as adversaries as well. Don’t hesitate to pick up.

Another great BV Larson read
Revisado: 03-06-22
Another super fun chapter in the tumultuous life of James McGill. This book is full of absolutely hilarious scenes that one wouldn’t normally find in SciFi lit. This particular story is more of a set up for more action in later books but it is still a rollicking tale. I suggest consuming these books in audible form as Mark Boyette is simply one of the best audio performers ever. And, you can really enjoy the funny bits when they come up. McGill rocks always

Near Future Mealtdown
Revisado: 05-07-21
This is a well written and conceived warning of the perils of arrogance, hubris and political incompetence at the highest levels of governments seeking power at the expense of other nations.
The book is written by authors who have significant experience in both the military and the world of politics. You are given the opportunity to see events unfold from a variety of individual perspectives which helps to keep the narrative moving quickly while challenging the reader to consider multiple points of view.
Pick this book up and get ready to enjoy a thrill ride that is profoundly thought provoking.
