Historia
I’ve been in this life for fifty years, been trying to work out its riddle for forty-two, and been keeping diaries of clues to that riddle for the last thirty-five. Notes about successes and failures, joys and sorrows, things that made me marvel, and things that made me laugh out loud. How to be fair. How to have less stress. How to have fun. How to hurt people less. How to get hurt less. How to be a good man. How to have meaning in life. How to be more me. Recently, I worked up the courage to sit down with those diaries.

As a fan of Matthew McConaughey I loved this book. You need to listen to this. You can’t read it. I don’t think it would be the same experience. Matthew was by far the best narrator of their own story. I’ve listened to many autobiographies by the author and this was the best. It’s laugh out loud funny in parts. I learned a lot about Matthew and thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book. I never wanted it to end. You will not be disappointed.

Disappointed
Revisado: 11-14-19
Sorry John Grisham. I have read and listened to all of your books. But this one, maybe was too technical and boring for me. I did listen to the whole book, but found it hard to pay attention to. It might be good for others, but in only my opinion, I didn't like it at all.

In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

Any additional comments?
I had this book in my wish list for quite a while. I kept putting it off, but finally, I said let me listen to this. After reading the reviews, I just had to listen to it next. Well, I LOVED it! Trevor Noah is so funny and as real as his life is, listening to him tell it made it worth the read. In some parts it was just laugh out loud funny. I love a good biography and this was the best by far. A must read (listen)!

Historia
Brooke Shields never had what anyone would consider an ordinary life. She was raised by her Newark-tough single mom, Teri, a woman who loved the world of show business and was often a media sensation all by herself. Brooke's iconic modeling career began by chance when she was only 11 months old, and Teri's skills as both Brooke's mother and her manager were formidable. But in private she was troubled and drank heavily.

Revisado: 06-16-16
What does Brooke Shields bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Brooke was excellent as the narrator. It was her story and it was like listening to her tell it straight to your face. She should consider narrating other books as well, she is that good.
Any additional comments?
I went through a similar situation as Brooke did with her mother. I had both parents, but my mother was an alcoholic also, and there were so many similarities that I felt like calling Brooke myself and telling her I went through that same thing too! I don't think this book would have had the same effect if it was just read and not listened to. Great story and very well written. I didn't want to stop listening to it. It was interesting from start to finish. I would highly recommend this book if you like biography's.

Another Great Read

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would recommend the whole series to a friend. It took me 3 years to listen to all 8 books. I listened to other books in between, but I missed the characters. Davina Porter is the best narrator I have ever listened too. She was very consistent with her character portrayals. You always know who was speaking.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Written in My Own Heart's Blood?
Too many memorable moments in this book, but my favorites was when Brianna met her grandfather for a brief moment, and the ending. Which I won't give away.
Which scene was your favorite?
The ending was actually my favorite scene, even though there were many scenes that were memorable.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I could never listen to this book in one sitting because it was so long, but every time I went out to walk my dog or drive my car, this book and the rest of the series was on.
Any additional comments?
I highly recommend the whole series. I'm going to miss Jamie and Claire and the rest of the family and cannot wait for the next book to come out.

Historia
In 1836, when she was nine years old, Cynthia Ann Parker was kidnapped by Comanche Indians. This is the story of how she grew up with them, mastered their ways, married one of their leaders, and became, in every way, a Comanche woman. It is also the story of a proud and innocent people whose lives pulsed with the very heartbeat of the land. It is the story of a way of life that is gone forever.

Any additional comments?
This book was recommended by a friend. She reads, not listens. I listen to books. I love audio books. I am up to Chapter 13 and am so bored, that I am not going to continue. I can't pay attention while I am listening and my mind wanders. The narrator is not good at all. Her voice just irks me. I don't mean to be so harsh, but that's just how I feel about this book. I'm waiting for it to get better, and it just doesn't seem to be doing that for me. So I am putting it down for now.

Typical
Revisado: 01-19-13
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
Maybe. If they like Danielle Steel
Would you be willing to try another book from Danielle Steel? Why or why not?
I'v read many books of Danielle Steel. I typically like them for light quick listening.
What aspect of Anthony Fusco’s performance would you have changed?
I think a woman should have been the narrator.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
No, but I might rent it when it comes out on DVD
Any additional comments?
The book was okay. It was interesting, but too short. I think I more lean towards longer books.

Boring
Revisado: 01-19-13
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Some action, I guess.
Has The Next Always turned you off from other books in this genre?
No
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of MacLeod Andrews?
I don't know, but he was boring also.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
It got good at the end. But the whole first part was just boring. And I love Nora Roberts books.
Any additional comments?
It was just a big disappointment.
