A believable story about the unbelievable beauty of life
Revisado: 02-23-25
Hey, beautiful story about how I feels not often enough but thankfully more so when you are reminded and that is what this was. also what a treat Joanna Lumley was. I had not realized it was her but kept thinking I felt like Patsy was reading to me.

Elin does it again. I won’t be the first or last to say - five stars for The Five Star weekend because it deserves the sweet cheesiness. Going on my repeat comfort listen with Hotel Nantucket and Golden Girl. As I’ve come to expect from Elin, the characters are well developed, the descriptions are pops of color in my mind, and there can’t be a more idealistic place than Nantucket.

Profoundly smart and sweeter than I was in my 20’s for sure, this ensemble of characters never fails to connect to some part of you.

Comforting yet interesting female life lessons
Revisado: 02-26-23
Let’s be honest, I’m here for an easy yet relatable storyline that won’t give me too much anxiety and a narrator that doesn’t annoy me. I realize that’s a low bar but this story hooked me easily and made me happy enough finish to it in less than 24 hours.

Sweet and easy
Revisado: 02-23-23
The narrator is lovely and the story is as I said above- sweet and easy. Keeps you feeling good but not to the point you aren’t interested. Plenty of drama but not told with histrionics. Soothing listen

I could live in Julia Whelan’s head and be happy

but I have to say this sometimes hilarious and sometimes kinda sad book left me wanting. Maybe my holiday Hallmark exposure made me basic.

Historia
They say you can never go home again, and for Persephone Fraser, ever since she made the biggest mistake of her life a decade ago, that has felt too true. Instead of glittering summers on the lakeshore of her childhood, she spends them in a stylish apartment in the city, going out with friends, and keeping everyone a safe distance from her heart. Until she receives the call that sends her racing back to Barry’s Bay and into the orbit of Sam Florek—the man she never thought she’d have to live without.

A wonderful 9 hours of my life
Revisado: 09-15-22
Still a bit snifflely (not sure that’s a word) as I type this review that follows the last 5 hours of this story. I just couldn’t turn it off. The narrator did a beautiful job with each voice and the tension, tone and nuance was perfectly suited for said person at said time. A few others mentioned how great this read was and it convinced me. I hope my review does the same.
