Narrator is awful
Revisado: 01-18-21
The narrator struggled through this book. His skills in the English language had no sophistication, and his struggle with the language makes the story choppy and at times incomprehensible.

The background ocean noise ruins it
Revisado: 03-09-18
Would you try another book from Mayu Kimura and/or Natalie Burman?
Nothing new here in the art of meditation and the ocean nice in the background is so loud it drowns out the demure voice of the narrator. While trying to meditate your ears get overwhelmed by noise and the concentration is lost immediately.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Loving Kindness Meditation?
Cut the background water noise.

After all, even when a more challenging case comes along, like a rare tropical disease, all he can do is pass it on to a qualified specialist or big-city hospital.

Would you try another book from Patrick Taylor and/or John Keating?
I don't think so. While this was a very pleasant book, the story unfolded extremely slowly. I became impatient with hit and bored, though I eventually finished it.

Historia
Rebecca Mead was a young woman in an English coastal town when she first read George Eliot's Middlemarch, regarded by many as the greatest English novel. After gaining admission to Oxford and moving to the United States to become a journalist, through several love affairs, then marriage, and family, Mead read and reread Middlemarch. The novel, which Virginia Woolf famously described as "one of the few English novels written for grown-up people," offered Mead something that modern life and literature did not.
